Urban Meyer trickle down...

Well since OSU is keeping him how might this affect the recruiting landscape? Knowing how coaches negative recruit the way they do I can't see how Meyer will be able to just keep going right where he left off. The guy is now a proven liar at the least. They've also admitted that due to medication he's on that he has memory lapses.... That can't be a very good trait to have in regards to leading a program. Nobody can be more tickled about this than Harbaugh and Michigan. To me it's better than Meyer getting fired for him and other programs because now he'll still be around to kick around. If they fired him than it's hire someone else and the excitement that that would bring regardless of who that'd end up being and they'd have little if any drop off. Now we may just see a drop off in the years to come. I could be wrong but time will tell...

Won't miss a beat. The next scandal is right around the corner. The media will move on the latest outrage and everyone will forget all about this.

I agree with the short shelf life of any scandal. It only lasts as long till the next one rolls around. But when it comes to negatively recruiting coaches have great memories and look for any and everything they can to recruit against someone. Urban has nowhere to go but down from where he is. Needless to say Urbans given a lot of kindling for folks to start fires with. Time will tell

Makes you wonder what he would have to do in order to get fired? Would another "Scandal" push him over the edge or is this considered the first of three strikes?

Go 8-4 or 7-5 three or four years in a row and not beat Michigan. That would probably do it.
I don't think he could suffer more than 1 season like that in a row... Their expectations are through the roof and if your carrying any baggage let alone this much there's no way he'd get 3 or 4 mediocre years

UM can do anything he wants and OSU just doesn't care. OSU was pressured by the outside world to do something or NOTHING would of happened to him. The officials wouldn't even penalize the dirt bag for being on the field more than his players were during the Iowa game.

All I could think about during Deace’s flashback were my wife and kids. Between Ohio States report and the podcast, I can say I absolutely despise the Buckeyes. My kids are young, and as they grow up I want them to make their own decisions about what’s right for them, but there is no way on earth I would ever let them play for a man or university like that.

The thought of the oily bastard in my living room gives me the creeps. I just have laminate floors. I'd be cleaning those suckers for two weeks. And my furniture, OMG! And you'd think my driveway was pit road at Daytona or something.

Least of all going to class at some of these schools.

The first drip... These kids especially 5 star studs that OSU often picks from have options. Why would they subject themselves to that when they just don't have to is the question I would pose to them if I'm any other school. You don't even have to negatively recruit in a nasty way. I would be sorta surprised if the roof caved in on Meyer and OSU but ya never know...

I guess I really don't care if they are going to class or not. Just be a good dude. That is all I care about is being a good person and contributing to the program. Graduation rates don't mean a lot to me. Graduation numbers meant a lot to me when I was younger, but at this point in my life i really don't care. Damnit, I just want to be entertained.:)

Yeah the older I get the more I feel that way too. However from the practical side of it though when every kid signs their LOIs going to class and achieving the minimum GPA required to be eligible is a part of what they are agreeing to by signing it..

I just find it laughable that not just kids in these shoes but folks in all walks of life will go and agree to things in writing and then after the fact bitch and moan about how 'unfair' it is. Well nobody forced you to agree to the terms!!!! My folks tried teaching me if you start something you finish it. You agree to it you abide by it. It's one thing if rules are changed after the fact of what you agreed to that's different. But for what we are speaking to here it's pretty evident that Jones and many others just don't care about anything other than what's best for them right then and there

A-pic-of-MS.jpg OSU is the smoking hot model gf. She might be a witch but she's hot. You aren't going to find better. If your regular looking gf (Iowa) becomes annoying and the hot model girl asks you out, regular girl isnt your gf anymore. This is true in all aspects of life.

I don’t disagree with what you are saying, especially the part about honoring your commitment. That being said, if a athlete takes advantage of the opportunity given to them that’s great. I am also okay with a the person that just wants to “major” in football. All that I require from those “football majors” is that they stay out of trouble and don’t be a knucklehead. College isn’t for everyone and I get that.
