Urban Meyer knew about 2015 domestic violence

Which restaurant will it be this time??

It may well not, but coaches have been fired on much less. This is all a game of PR and perception for OSU. But of course coaches have gotten away with a lot more too.
Oh no doubt on all of that. I just don't know what his contractual situation is and if there's any sticking points/crazy buyout stuff that might make OSU so inclined to not try and fire him till PR wise they just about had to. If there's some 'with cause' type of clause in his deal that OSU can not owe him another nickel I'm sure they'd be way more apt to pull the trigger sooner. In the short term there's lawyers combing through ever line of the deal to see what's what and also for his and his wifes side to try covering their asses...

Guys, I'm just worried that Ohio State dumps Meyer and finally taps O'Keefe for the head gig. They no doubt remember Ken running up the score on them in '04 with a first year QB and no running backs. Jump to 2017 and the Buckeyes were probably kicking themselves for not nabbing O'Keefe first when he came back from the NFL. And then really kicking themselves when he blitzkrieged them for 55 with another first year QB, no WRs and a first year OC, who was probably screaming obscenities into Ken's headset as 'ol KOK orchestrated the game plan.

It makes too much sense. The guy is ready to go back to the state where he spent his days as an undergrad. Like Bill Snyder leaving Fry, sometimes you just gotta be thankful for the time you had together and realize there are some guys who will always be destined for bigger things.

Just placed on paid admin leave.
the ESPN reporter just said..."Urban, Gene Smith and other OSU officials have been huddled up together all day long trying to figure out how to handle all of this." In other words........ they were huddled together trying to figure out how to save their asses and jobs.

This is going to get really interesting.. Makes the Wirfs and Reilly alcohol incidents look pretty tame!!

Thing is, the legal and compliance departments of these schools are getting really worried so coaches acting scummy doesn't fly as well as it used. 10 years ago this would have been strictly an athletic department issue and Urban would have had to answer a few pesky questions for the next week. The times are a changin'.

Did Urban Meyer pay the refs in the 2006 Outback Bowl? Kinda makes ya wonder now...

Why that? Maybe he didn't say anything about threats he'd heard about. That game was unbelievable. Something was going on. What..who knows.

There's no way he should survive this. Tressel didn't survive the tattoo/benefits. Hayes punched a player from another team. IMO, neither is as bad as what the early reports say Meyer did.

The reporter that asked Meyer about this at the BIG Media days? I would not be surprised if that reporter already knew this info and was deliberately trying to catch Meyer in a lie. If so, OK by me.

This is a very detailed report (lengthy but worth the read)....

There are text messages between Courtney Smith & Shelley Meyer that imply knowledge and indicate that Shelley was going to tell Urban. Additional texts exchanged between Courtney and another asst coaches wife that indicate Urban talked to Smith about the allegations (which Smith predictably denied).

So a few thoughts...
Title IX
Both Urban and his wife are mandatory reporters as employees of OSU
Joe Pa

Another article in USA today outlines the specific language re: Title IX requirements in Urban's contract
I don't see how OSU can put lipstick on this pig

Classic case of hubris and closing ranks.

The more powerful a person is, the more they think they can get away with and it's "nobody else's business."

And the more you win, the more you can (think you can) get away with.

Calling Luke Fickell.

Makes me realize how special a guy like Nick is. Ol Miss will bring in some classless schlub like Hugh Freeze who will miraculously have the best recruiting class in the SEC, and then Nick does it the right way and might drop a game every year or two. It hurts, but I'd rather lose with dignity than win by cheating.

<<Nick does it the right way>>

Best comedic line on this board. Ever.

I’ve been out fishing all afternoon and evening, somebody fill me in on the latest Urb happenings...
