Upside hopefulness...

I think the presence of Nunge and Garza will mainly affect the minutes of Uhl and Wagner, although one or both of them may get an occasional start. I expect Kriener to increase his minutes this season and have a pretty decent year.

Kriener doesn't appear to be much of a player...he does one thing well however...he knows how to play, and does it with intelligence and energy that is refreshing.

So do you actually watch the games? Where do you come up with that kind of crap if you have? Kriener appears to be a very good player.

OK...got it...I mean...visually he doesn't "appear" to be much of a player...not toned...can't jump...doesn't appear quick...but is much better than he appears...he is a gamer, unafraid to shoot...I like him a lot...he has a bit of Baer in him...seems to be a non-pouting player too...hard worker...

I love everything about this Iowa team...except, it is one bohannon ankle turn from a train wreck. Oh how I wish there was a little PG depth.

Fran has already said that Nunge would play this year. Whether it is because he doesn't want to redshirt or because he can help the team this year I don't really know. He is obviously a great player, but Iowa has a lot of pretty good players. You can't teach talent with seven feet.
Gotta admit, that is a lot of feet. Should have excellent stability.

If Ellingson plays a lot...I don't think it would be a good story...

Last year Fran used Ellingson a lot in clutch situations. He's a smart player, decent defender, good ball handler, and excellent 3 point shooter. I wouldn't be surprised to see him used that way again this year.

And let's not mention Ellingson vs Minnesota. Clearly he called a timeout ;)

I just don't see minutes for Uhl or Williams this year. Wagner will play early and when we need a physical presence, but Uhl better be hitting his 3's or forget about it. If we go to a first and second unit that means 10 deep. Moss, Bo, Garza, Wagner, and Cook. Then pick 5 out of a hat. Baer, Pemsl, Ellingson, Kreiner, and maybe Nunge or insert name here. Players will move back and forth, but we have seen a representative sample from Uhl and Williams and I don't see the light going on for either. Love to see us be the bullies of the Big Ten this year.

Moss at point could be exciting...Williams has just appeared to be out of position and a plodder/thinker without much of a shot. Perhaps the light will go on...
