Upon Further Review: Iowa was not Uber-Conservative

Long statistics there and a lot of work put into it. However, most of the time it was hand off on first down. It would have been to see a few more passing downs on first down.....especially in the second half.

With a 2 TD lead you run first down on every possession. A incomplete pass stops the clock, and a run does not. You can always pass 2nd and 3rd down if you want. If you throw an incomplete pass on 1st down, more than likely you pass 2nd down (if incomplete) you pass 3rd down. You could potentially run virtually no time off the clock. If you run and gain 5, you open up many more options, and you keep the clock running.

Now I'm not saying that you don't pass at all on 1st, but I would definitely try to run on 1st like 70-80% of the time.

I don't think PSU was going to stop us. We could have opened it more. But this staff does not do that. They just wanted to run clock..........nor do I think PSU was ever a real threat to score on us if we did open it more and did not convert.

so when they got it to the one inch line, that was no threat?

BINGO!

- The roughing the passer penalty on Daniels was BOGUS! Without that bad call ... PSU doesn't even sniff a chance at scoring in the first half! Furthermore, that probably further deflates them to end the half with a pick rather than 3 points.

True dat!

Honestly, I don't see PSU doing that all game long. We could have opened up more. Big deal, they got to the 1 inch line and still could not even score.

Well I see what we did on every play but is there anyway you could real quick draw up who was in on every snap also where they were lined up.
