Iowa has one of the worst non conference schedules in D1. The RPI is all about numbers, it does not measure head to head or "logic". Fifty percent of the RPI score is your opponents won/loss percentage, 25% is your opponents opponents record, and 25% is your own win percentage. If you win on the road it credits teams 1.4 win and a home win counts .6 win while losses count 1.4 at home and .6 on the road.

And in 1 year the transformation is complete. The RPI student is now the RPI master...bowing at the waist to show the appropriate level of respect.

Were you the one who explained it to me last season? I remember I once thought the RPI had something to do with where the other team was ranked when you played them.

The funny thing is I love math, I cannot believe it took me that long to figure it out.

Thanks for the correction, I still have the sites that update the RPI daily and has Iowa in the 30s on my mind.

How on earth can Mass be ranked 8th in RPI?
It looks like their top win is over a 16-6 Providence club.

Heck no...it wasn't me. I count on you to keep it straight. I just remember last year neither one of us really had it figured out and then you went and checked a book out at the library and got all smart. I was just paying you a compliment...has nothing to do with me.
