Iowa has one of the worst non conference schedules in D1. The RPI is all about numbers, it does not measure head to head or "logic". Fifty percent of the RPI score is your opponents won/loss percentage, 25% is your opponents opponents record, and 25% is your own win percentage. If you win on the road it credits teams 1.4 win and a home win counts .6 win while losses count 1.4 at home and .6 on the road.
And in 1 year the transformation is complete. The RPI student is now the RPI master...bowing at the waist to show the appropriate level of respect.
