Didn't something like this happen a few years back? I wanted to say it was Miguel Recinos who wavered and Duncan came in? Or the other way around? Looking up stats:
Recinos: 2015-2018
Duncan: 2016-2020
Duncan redshirted in 2017 and didn't see action in 2018 so it doesn't make sense.

I remember some contention right around the end of the season. Going in to the Nebraska game where Recinos kicked the game winner. But that was 2018. I don't see any stats for Duncan that year. Shudak was around too, but mostly kicking off until 2021. I also thought of Marshall Meeder.

I must be absolutely punch drunk after just booking a hotel in downtown Iowa City for next month on a non-football weekend even. I could have stayed in Coralville for two weeks for the same cost. I used points, but I still feel like I won't be able to sit down for 3 days.

I just remember a trusted Iowa kicker getting a little squirmy and having to go with someone "new" or switching off depending on distance. I dunno. Maybe it was from 20 years ago. I didn't think it was that long ago. I really want to feel like it was Recinos/Duncan. But there's no stats to back that up at all. So that ain't right.

Yeah. I always stay in CR due to costs in IC, plus the fact that finding a vacancy there is a challenge. That said, I priced a Fairfield in CR. Two nights, 2 queens, totaled $854. Not surprised. MN fans show up big time and book into CR in mass.

Season tickets for decades, I reserve months ahead. Currently HI Express @ a couple of hundred $ per night. Similar at nearby Hampton. Nice sports bars, etc. and I-380 is right there. 20-25 minutes to Kinnick.

I do stay at the Drury in Coralville for Iowa men’s BB. Very reasonable and great location.

I've done all the Coralville ones for non game visits. Usually Cedar Rapids area if we come for a game. Once we were out in Coralville for a game. Eons ago. This isn't for a game. It's Dad's weekend for my kid's fraternity. Last one. He's a senior. Figure I'll go "all out" this time. Save on the Ubers and don't have to worry about where my car is or whatever.

Next year, he'll be living in DSM. Hopefully a nicer apartment than the college kid craphole of a house he's living in now and we could go to and fro for games. It's not like he'll be "in college" anymore so I don't have to do my best to keep up.

I guess all the bars are now doing cover/wristbands digitally now. So, we don't have to run around to all the places they want to go to at 6:00 PM getting cheap covers and wristbands.
