Updated Bracketology

It's amazing how much time we spend speculating on the brackets and possibilities that change constantly until the real version comes out. Could you imagine what humanity could do if we all put this much thought into something real and useful. I'm not saying I'm not a speculator also, just having an existential time prioritization moment.

Lunardi now has Iowa as the 8 seed with Kentucky in the next round. I really think that is what will end up happening, but I don't even care. I'd love a chance to play Kentucky, Iowa isn't built for a huge run in the tournament, so why not go for a chance to shock the world?
Lunardi gets a lot of cred for having 99% correct in his bracket. But that 99% you and I could get.

It's the % that he gets the seed line right (70%s maybe) and the % he gets correct in pod (30 percantages maybe).
Predicting pods is a crapshoot.

lol. Kentucky had 1 game decided by 5 points or less two far all season and that was LSU 2 point victory. That is One game!!! 24 of the 32 have been decided by double digits. It's Kentucky and everyone else and Kentucky is without question is consistently destroying teams.

Kentucky smothers teams with its defense. It's a well oiled machine. Will they be tested no doubt but to say they've not been consistent is ridiculous IMO.

Consistency means always playing the same. Kentucky is way better than everyone else. That's why they always win. It doesn't mean they always play the same. Sometimes they play to the best of their ability and blow teams out. Sometimes they play average and win by 10-15 against average teams. Sometimes they play bad and beat bad teams by that much. My point is, sometimes they play good (for them) and sometimes they play bad (for them). They still win because their bad is better than most other's good. It doesn't mean they are always consistent.

Every year the committee has some random teams seeded higher/lower than anyone expected. I'm hoping they really emphasize road wins or something and jump to a 6 or 7 out of nowhere (I mention 6 because 7 wouldn't really be out of nowhere, 6 would be awesomely unexpected)

The cynic and negative Hawkeye fan in me says they randomly screw us with a play in game appearance.

I can guarantee Iowa won't be in a play in game.....because there are none.

Also I wouldnt get too hung up on which day you think they'll play yet, the locations are all up in the air until tomorrow night.

That is incorrect. Locations and dates are set in stone and have been for some time. Times are unknown until Sunday night. Jacksonville, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Portland are Thursday/Saturday games. Charlotte, Columbus, Omaha Seattle are Friday/Sunday games.

Second-Third Rounds
March 19, 21
Veterans Memorial Arena (Jacksonville, Fla.)
KFC Yum! Center (Louisville)
Consol Energy Center (Pittsburgh)
Rose Garden (Portland, Ore.)

March 20, 22
Time Warner Cable Arena (Charlotte, N.C.)
Nationwide Arena (Columbus, Ohio)
CenturyLink Center (Omaha, Neb.)
KeyArena (Seattle)

Over a third of our wins our vs tournament teams. Hampton, ndsu, and north florida being maybe three surprises.

After Duke and Virginia both lost last night I'm not sure how Wisconsin isn't currently a 1 seed. It just doesn't make sense at all. If Wisconsin wins the BTT they have to be a 1 seed.

They are a 1. And prolly the second overall seed after Kintacky. This assumes they beat Izzo of course.

Palm updated again and has us back to a 7 against Georgia in Charlotte which would be a Friday game. Two seed is duke

Agreed. There are automatic bid teams playing in the first four. If the first four were play-in games then they would be stuffed with 8 at-large teams. They ain't.

Best arguement I've seen yet on whether or not the first 8 teams are in the tournament.

OT but can someone tell me how Lunardi has Murray St. who was ranked #25 a week ago not even in the Next four out but below that.
