Jerry Palm has dropped us down to an 8 playing Oklahoma St on a Thursday in Pittsburgh, with Villanova awaiting the winner.

Lunardi has us as a 7 still playing Colorado St in Seattle with Gonzaga the 2 seed. This would be a Friday game.

For selfish reasons I really want a Friday game and obviously we would all prefer a 7 seed over an 8/9. Lunardi has Wisconsin a 2 seed still, which won't happen if they win the B1G title, so there is still a chance in has bracket we could get moved to a 7 in Omaha (which would be ideal). I wish it was Selection Sunday already.

After Duke and Virginia both lost last night I'm not sure how Wisconsin isn't currently a 1 seed. It just doesn't make sense at all. If Wisconsin wins the BTT they have to be a 1 seed.

Also I wouldnt get too hung up on which day you think they'll play yet, the locations are all up in the air until tomorrow night.

I wish it was selection Sunday as well. Since there's nothing I or the team can do fro here on out I'll keep myself busy rooting for Kansas in their game today.

If we're going to be an 8/9 I want Villanova to be the 1. The Big East no longer exists...more of a mid major conference now. Villanova should be a 2 or 3 IMO. Look at their schedule...no one close to a Wisconsin or Maryland to be found.

Assuming we win our 1st game I want Gonzaga, Kansas or Villanova in our next game...in that order. I think Manhattan or Belmont as a 16 could even make Villanova the 1st ever 1 seed to lose to a 16...realize Belmont is currently a 15.

Also, Wisconsin should be the #2 overall seed behind Kentucky if they win the BTT...IMO. There is no way they should be a 2 seed. Kentucky, Wisconsin, Virginia and Arizona would be my 1 seeds...assuming AZ and WI win their conference tournaments.

We are lucky we are still that high after Thursdays puker. If this team and staff don't come up with a better effort than was displayed then, it's not gonna matter who, where, or when we play next. We'll get our clocks cleaned again.

You need to go watch the Iowa vs. Maryland game. It sounds like Iowa's game Thursday is the only game you have watched this year. Bad Iowa will lose. Good Iowa can beat all but a handful of teams in the country. I'm going to hope for good Iowa. If I'm expecting bad Iowa there's no reason to watch the game.

They are and should be a one seed. So who do you leave off one seed? Duke, who beat Wiscy at Wiscy or Virginia who won the ACC?

Bet money they make Duke a #2 seed and stick them with Kentucky.....Even though they won't admit it they(committee) wouldn't mind a possible Kentucky/Duke regional final.

We're saying the same thing. Iowa CAN go out and take apart a team like Maryland, yet have the 'ability' to get taken out by teams like Penn State and Northwestern, both of which are below average teams talent wise and record wise. (I won't mention Minny). I'm sorry, but at this point in the season there shouldn't be a "good Iowa" and a "bad Iowa". There should be a consistent Iowa, at least effort wise imo.

I don't think there is a such thing as a consistent college basketball team. Even Kentucky is inconsistent enough to destroy Kansas and barely beat LSU.

I thought Iowa clearly had things dialed in. Thursday's loss was extremely disappointing. Iowa had lots left to play for and was in great position to better it's seed. Huge bummer!!!

i don't see a Cousins, Wall or Anthony Davis on this team. They got beat by a mediocre Connecticut team last year, they can get beat by a hot shooting team this year.
So you're saying there is hope for Iowa who did that about 3x this season (8% of games)

lol. Kentucky had 1 game decided by 5 points or less two far all season and that was LSU 2 point victory. That is One game!!! 24 of the 32 have been decided by double digits. It's Kentucky and everyone else and Kentucky is without question is consistently destroying teams.

Kentucky smothers teams with its defense. It's a well oiled machine. Will they be tested no doubt but to say they've not been consistent is ridiculous IMO.

For us long timers, the creed is
Incredible Opportunities Wasted Away.

Lunardi now has Iowa as the 8 seed with Kentucky in the next round. I really think that is what will end up happening, but I don't even care. I'd love a chance to play Kentucky, Iowa isn't built for a huge run in the tournament, so why not go for a chance to shock the world?
