~Update on Moss & Hutton~

As far as the article goes I wish we could have heard something from the two guys actually redshirting. Maybe there is a rule against them talking to the media.

Imo I still think one of them will transfer, just a gut feeling no real logic behind it. One positive however is both guys get pretty fired up on the end of the bench during games and look like they are having a good time.

If anything getting them to red shirt almost assured that those two will be back. If they weren't on board they would have left at semester as we see many kids do that these days. We are much more likely to lose a Fleming or Williams who could use their RS as they sat out if they transferred.

True. The only way they transfer is if they realize they're not D1 material. I highly doubt that happens but if it did it would be a good thing to trade a bust for an open scholarship.

I agree. But Jones, Jok, Uhl and Baer will all be at least 3 years removed from high school. And all 4 will be very difficult match ups. It's not like we will be throwing 8 true freshmen out there.

Windsor, I like your optimism, but the problem will be a lack of a PG. Clemmons is better than any of the PG's next year (given age), and the offense hardly runs when he is in. I don't see Iowa making the tournament next year.

Everyone else loses players too. That isnt unique to Iowa. Jok, Baer, Uhl, Wagner and Jones is a good starting point

You may be right that they would have done so already, time will tell. The way it looks right now we have about 12 players who have legitimate cases at playing time next year so I just assume at least one will transfer. Maybe it will be someone else.

I feel next season will be a rebuilding one, but when Uhl is a SR in 2 years, our known roster will be:

* Uhl
* Baer
* Williams
* Moss
* Hutton
* Fleming
* Ellingson
* Wagner
* Cook
* Pemsl
* Kriener
* Bohannon.
* 2 open scholly's.

That is a lot of talent, but most of it is "potential" talent, right now. But 2 years from now, that will be a good team climbing the ladder. Our Bigs will be more B1G prototypical bigs and not the lean guys we've had. Our inside guys will be more like MSU, as far as their physical builds go. We should have at least 4 guys that are 235 lbs plus.

I think we very much will need one season to get our pg play in the groove.

Iowa scored over 40 in the 1st half tonight without MG. We will be okay.

Next year...

Jok will be our fourth consecutive 1st team all B1G. Uhl will develop into an Aaron White type of player. Baer will be on scholarship and will be a very solid contributor... I think he's the next Oleseni. Dale Jones will be motivated to have an excellent final season and will be a major contributor. Wagner is "freakishly athletic"... very well may turn into a Jared Sullinger type... will be a solid contributor next year. I'm looking forward to seeing Williams develop... keeping my fingers crossed for next year on him. Moss will see his minutes steadily increase as the year progresses and he ratchets up his contribution.

I see 20+ wins and an NCAA berth.

Won't Fran's oldest son be on the roster at that point?
