Update on Locker Room Situation

ISU Release

IOWA STATE ATHLETICS STATEMENT ON LOCKER ROOM THEFT “Upon learning that multiple items were taken from the Iowa football locker room Saturday night, Athletics Director Jamie Pollard visited personally with Iowa A.D. Gary Barta and Coach Kirk Ferentz to express his regret for the incident. UI officials reported that nine victims suffered thefts of cell phones and/or approximately $50 in total. Additionally, no vandalism to the area was noted or reported. An investigation, conducted by ISU Police, is on-going. If the person(s) responsible are not identified, ISU Athletics will reimburse those who suffered losses. It is an unfortunate situation, and unusual, in that the Jacobson Athletic Building has contracted security detail on site before, during and after games. The ISU Police and the athletics department responded quickly and thoroughly when alerted to the situation and have assured Iowa officials they are committed to seeking answers and improving security in this area.”

See this is what happens when Canzeri only gets 3 carries! I kid I kid, but seriously what if it was within the Iowa program that did this? Not just anyone is allowed to walk into the locker room.

I sure wish heavy handed moderators hadn't banned TwoStarStan. I really could use his insight right about now because he knows all of the inner workings of private security firms and stadium security.

There are about 20 posts on CryFan from yesterday I could find where they said something like this is so minor nobody outside of the state will even hear about it...

Oops.
Oh please, as if anyone outside of Iowa is gonna read that. Do you read stories about the UCF-Florida Atlantic game?

There are a bunch of posters at Cyfan that claim it was somebody from the Iowa program that did it because that makes the most sense. They're also claiming it's a minor thing just like Hawkfromnorwalk said. I'll give credit to the one poster that said if this happened to ISU in Iowa City the thread would have 400 posts on it. It's typical for Cyfans to make things up and convince each other it's real. The fault lies with the security firm that was paid to be there and wasn't. They are hired by ISU so I'm glad Pollard stepped up and did the right thing after it happened.

The e-mails and text messages on those cell phones might be of the most value or the most incriminating.

This was the first thing I thought of. Watch this come to bite Iowa in the ***.

There was an elected politician here a few years back that was robbed at gun point. He cooperated and willingly handed over the cash, but when the robber wanted the cell phone the politician fought the robber like he was fighting for his life.
