Gus must grade out well by the viewers and Fox people. I think he is ok because he does bring some excitement to his calls but he was sure a USC homer in the first half in the Holiday bowl game against the hawks. But the hawks captured his heart in the 2nd half

That Iowa Penn State call was the one time I enjoyed him. He was genuinely emotional, and that’s cool for an announcer. Generally I find him underwhelming. He’s not bad for the second or third best game, but not the prime matchup, IMO.
