University Nationals participants

After seeing some of those results I really like where St.John and Lofthouse are and the Ballwegs showed us that they are pretty close to where they need to be. Ramos is pretty close also but will have to sit behind "Steel" for another year. As for the Hwt's I was pleasantly suprised with Raising with his little freestyle experience. Ambrose I believe is our best option at 197 if he keeps improving like this. Some of our other young men have some work to do but this is such a Great experience for them and will help them to get better.
Now as for Gambrall I have to be careful because he is all ready upset with me but for him to have a tournament like he did just makes me more worried about him. He has the talent to hang with anybody at 184(outside of Wright psu) but yet somehow has performances like this one. Just makes you say hmmm.

My dream line up as of right now for next year:

125: "Steel"
133: Moore
141: Marion
149: Carew(is better than showed but not all that bad tourny)
157: St. John
165: Lofthouse
174: Evans
184: Ambrose
197: Lofthouse
Hwt: Raising

I know its not gonna happen but that's the lineup I have the most confidence in.

A couple of things for that lineup Tobini. St John is going up to 165 which I believe you know and just put that as part of the "Dream." Lofthouse will be at 174 and don't know that he could make 165 with 1 hour weigh ins anyway. Evans will redshirt and will never see the lineup at 174. He was recruited to wrestle 184 or 197 and they will get him there.

I like where your mind is a little as for Luke Lofthouse and Ambrose both being in the lineup but you'd have to switch them around. Luke was not a big 97 pounder and could maybe make the cut. Ambrose had trouble with 197 last year and won't be going any lower. He held his own at 211 this weekend and will fair well at 197 with his weight under control. Gambrall would be the wildcard there as he will be as good as he wants to be...

You claim to be well connected, then spit out that lineup? No way does E. Lofthouse make 165 with 1 hour weigh ins. No way does Evans not RS. And worst of all, Ambrose struggled to make 197 this year yet he's going to make 184 next season?

Good Lord Spooner, what is your problem? I said it was a "dream" lineup and also said I know its not going to happen! Just a wild and crazy dream lineup! Obviously you have a problem with me as that's the 2nd call out on this board. Sorry for whatever I did to you. Oh by the way Schwab is the correct spelling of their name my bad! My wife and Allyson got to be pretty good freinds this year along with Michelle Brands. I think thats how you spell Allyson's name sorry if incorrect as I am sure you will point it out!

Pin, thanks for pointing out the obvious!

if someone called me out on my grammar and be mad about it i don't think one single person on here would like me..screw grammar it takes to long as long as your point is put across thats all that matters

55kg: Tony Ramos 3rd
63kg: Mark Ballweg 2nd
66kg: Joe Slaton 3rd
66kg: Dylan Carew 7th
70kg: Matt Ballweg 4th
70kg: Stew Gillmore 6th
74kg: Ethan Lofthouse 2nd
74kg: Derek St John 3rd
74kg: Jake Kerr 6th
96kg: Brodie Ambrose 4th
120kg: Blake Raising 5th
120kg: Jordan Johnson 6th

Ramos was one close match away from being in the finals and he was hurt good portion of the year i think this perfomance was really good for him. i would love to watch him and steele scrap in the wrestling room both studs

Ballweg had a great tournament and wrestled "the great" david taylor really tough this guy doesn't get much credit for possibly being in the lineup next year but getting 2nd in this tourny shows he's got the goods

Slaton beats kennedy twice and not known for his freestyle had a great tournament wish he would of got his crap together after his AA year

Carew beat grajales who i think is very good and had a good showing but lost to joey and lowe for put him down the bottom of the awards stand

M Ballweg showed how tough the iowa room is being at the bottom of the totem poll for 157 this year and gets 4th place at nationals i think a pretty darn good showing

Gilmore won't see mat time

Lofthouse is one of the wrestlers im excited to see more of making the finals and losing a tough match to spons

St john had a great tournament beating welch and only losing to lofthouse

Kerr i suppose had an ok showing getting 6th but had a tough weight class

Ambrose put up some good matches and got 4th.

Raising from what ive heard doesn't have a whole lot of experience in the freestyle world along with johnson and they had an ok tournament finishing 5th and 6th

"my dream line up" is what he said then went on to say "i know its not gonna happen"

He also said it's the lineup he has the most confidence in. How could one have confidence in that lineup? You have two guys in there that would have to cut off limbs to make those weights.

Obviously Spooner has some anger to be let out somewhere and he chose that situation to do so. If he can't read the "this is a dream lineup that wont happen" than there really isnt anything we can do for him.

FF, Yes I know what weight St. John & Lofthouse are going next year and I did know Evans will redshirt next year. lol
Just thought I would throw that out there as a "DREAM" and yes I would have a ton of confidence in that team IF IT WAS POSSIBLE!!!

Here's what the lineup should/could look like that might be a more realistic "Dream lineup". Good Lord a more realistic Dream Lineup but here goes:

125: STEEL
133: Moore
141: Marion
149: Carew outside shot of Ballweg
157: ??? I Have a idea but don't want to give it away
165: St. John
174: E. Lofthouse
184: L. Lofthouse
197: Ambrose
Hwt: Raising

There maybe that makes Spooner happy now!

As long as it's a dream line-up.... I'd kick it off with 6 All-Americans including a couple champs. Ramos and Clark are more proven that Carrew, so in my dream I'd rather have them in the lineup.

125: Clark or Ramos (High All American, maybe a champ)
133: McD (Repeats but does it a weight higher) *
141: Moore (All American)
149: Marion (Moves up one weight and up one step on the podium)
157: Nick Moore (All American) *
165: St. John (All American) *
174: E. Lofthouse (Since it's a dream I'd like to see if Gambrall could make this cut, or to see Kerr/Jensen pack on a few and fight it out here)
184: Gambrall or Lofthouse (I wouldn't be shocked if Gambrall would AA or if he went 0-2)
197: Ambrose or Evans *
Hwt: Raising or JJ (it'd be really nice if one could AA) *

*weights where in my dream we score more points at nationals than we did this year.
