Let me preface this by saying I love Iowa's unis, both home and away and I would never advocate changing them unlike some school in central Iowa that does so repeatedly. However, when it comes to the pro combat unis, these seem to be once a season type of changes. I know we do throwbacks every once in a while, however, I would like to see Iowa have a game where they do a pro combat uniform. I agree with another poster out there that an all black pro combat uni (leave the Tigerhawk on the helmet) would be awesome to see just once. Not only that, but I think a lot of the young players like the idea of Nike bringing these to their schools.

I wouldn't use the word pro to describe his leg tattoo. It looks like it was done in prison with a safety pin.

For the most part you are right. I remember reading something and I can't remember if it was from Jon, or Kakert, or Howe but it's the little things like pro combat unis that give teams a recruiting advantage. Young kids being recruited dig this ****. It's a sign of the time. That's why I think Iowa should be open to it.

This is a very good point, as the thought did cross my mind that a younger generation thinks those jerseys are much sweeter than the Baby Boomers, for example.
