UNI game

Did anyone watch it? I didn't. I just saw the box score. Looks like Chit-Chat is the only starter that showed up she played great again. She shot the lights out 7-8 going 3-3 from three point land. But nobody else in the starting lineup got to double digits. Stuelke 4 pts in 19 mins 0-2 from 3 and 0-2 from FT line wonder what was up with her. If Iowas going to be good she's gotta be better then that. Our starting frontcourt needs to be the strength of the team. Instead Ava and Hannah combined for 12 pts shooting under 50% from both the FT and the field. That's not going to cut it against the good teams.

The bench is who brought it. Hays had 14 pts with 6 others all scoring some. 14 TOs as a team is still a bit high especially against a team like UNI would really like to have that be closer to 10. But if they are playing uptempo with lots of possessions then it's tolerable. But don't want to have much more then that. And the FT line is still a problem 9-16 as a team. If I had to guess those two things will be our issues as the year goes on. It'd be really nice to shoot closer to 75% as a team instead of 56% that's for sure.

I'd guess first road game jitters affected the outcome of this game; good they got one under their belt before heading to Orlando. The starters shot poorly out of the gate., except for Chit Chat.

Chit Chat continues to lead the way.

It's good the bench is getting playing time. We've really got 11 players that can contribute in a significant way, I'm including Teegan here.

Ava and Layla played together for a bit. I'd guess we'll see more of that.

We'll get our first real feel for how good this team can be with the trip to Orlando. Baylor and Miami ought to be good tests.

I listened to the game on SiriusXM. Works for me.

Game was on espn+. I was able to watch it. Announcers had some UNI connection but were basically fair minded for the most part. Heiden and Hannah both missed way too many layups it seemed they were off somehow. Hays continues to impress, but needs time practicing free throws.

If we play like this against quality competition it would be a beat down…..

McCabe had a good game, and Chit Chat was on fire. Other than that, it was not stellar basketball

Watched the game. Stuelke seemed like she was just going through the motions, not taking the game seriously -- definitely was not dialed in. Heiden had a weird game: missed multiple layups, fell down backwards twice while trying to post up which led to 2 TOs...she was putting out the effort, just wasn't her day. Hays, on the other hand, played with purpose and finished whenever she got her hands on the ball -- you can literally see her confidence growing game-to-game, possession-by-possession!

Chit Chat was amazing: knocking down threes, cross-over fade-aways, mid-range jumpers -- what a gorgeous touch on her short shots. BTen teams will take advantage of her small stature on defense when conference play starts, but in these games she's been the complete package and yesterday showed the ability to literally take over a game.

The game was over early, and Jensen let her starters rest much of the 2nd half -- Stremlow's 3 pt shooting stroke has been sweeeeeet the past 2 games; Deal played a lot of minutes -- just trying to get her acclimated to the college game. At this point, can't quite figure out why she was as highly touted as she was.
