If you seriously think this program will EVER be anything but second-tier compared to programs like that, you're delusional. I think we'll win a national championship someday. But we will never be the team that is a NC contender every year.

Its not unbelievable. We have what are turning out to be the worst off/def cordinators combos in the country these days people everything that happened in 09 was 09 this 2011. Just so people know the recipe is out on how to beat Iowa and their coaching staff doesnt change anythying to disrupt this stuck in their ways and its gonna cost them. Now I cant wait for all these peope to come on here and make excuses for them and act like everything is ok. ready set go !!!

u guys bashing the coaches r idiots! this staff put how many no name recruits in the nfl. today the hawks have dominated but a couple of missed fgs and a blown coverage and its the coaches fault? idiots!

Overall coaching records/history aside, it's simply unforgivable to lose to a pathetic Minnesota team two years in a row. Once could be a fluke and **** happens. Twice in a row - that is not bad luck, it's poor preparation and execution.

Let's hope that doesn't happen.

tm3308. You are probably one of the most respected posters on this site, so I obviously don't want to get in a ******* match with you. I, unlike many posters on this site, would just like to have some good, quality discussion. With that being said (even if it is just playing Devil's Advocate), why can't we be those things that you mentioned?

Why does that connotation have to be left up to the "big-time programs"? Why can't Iowa be one of those said programs?

The lack of aggressive play on both sides of the ball is pathetic, this coaching staff needs to be let go, there should never be a reason to lose to the worst team in D1, NEVER! Paying Kirk 4 million a year fir this is crap, and lack of execution is on the coaches and not putting them in a position to excel is on Kirk too
