Unacceptable TV coverage for Saturday

ABC/ESPN coverage for Iowa is borderline ridiculous. Again Omaha ABC will carry the great pretenders and Nebraska. Which means DIRECTV will mirror on channel 210 in SD...with this day and age that is unacceptable. My wife will be stuck home watching in SD...I guess I don't understand.

Omaha will always carry the Nebby game if that's an option. You have to remember that although you and I aren't fans, they have a lot more fans than Iowa does. But the SD vs HD thing is definitely a problem. Sometimes I think ESPN does this stuff just to give Big 10 fans the finger.

Maybe I'm misreading, there is a note about mirror image of game not on ABC being on ESPN.

On DirecTV since there isn't regional feeds for ESPN like you have on cable some of the mirror image games are only in SD on the alternate ESPN channels. It is annoying.

The coverage map makes complete sense. Everyone in B10 country, as well as both coasts gets the B10 game. Everyone in B12 country gets the B12 game. The fact that the mirror isn't in HD is a completely different gripe.

If the trade off for being on nationwide TV is that for some folks the game is in SD so be it. I'd trade a HD game seen only on the B10 network to one seen nationwide (part of it in SD) every day of the week.

In this day and age, especially considering ABC/ESPN is covering the game, HD should always be available. BS. I agree with the OP, it's ESPN giving us Big Ten Network folks the finger.

In this day and age, people ***** and whine and complain that the world owes them anything they want. Maybe we should blame Obama for not fixing it.

ESPN giving BTN folks the finger? You people are crazy.

If its unacceptable, I guess your only option is to drop your cable, so you don't give any money to the ******** at ESPN who are doing this just to spite you and Jim Delaney.

I'll get over it, still like my cable. I guess me complaining about a lack of HD coverage on a related thread on a message board really ruffles your feathers. Sorry to **** in your cheerios.

I remember living in KC in the mid 1990's and if you didn't go to the sports bar, you didn't see the games at all. It's come a long way since then...late 90's the ESPN gameplan was a must for MBB and FB...now, its complaints about SD :)

I do miss watching the games at The Other Place in Overland Park, though...that was so much fun being around hundreds of fans and slapping fives and loving life.

That was when you had a few cold ones Miller. Just like at Pal Joey's.

I'm very proud of you though. Stand up guy.
