Uhl

He seems to be a role player. Not sure he should be starting, but I'll give Fran the benefit of the doubt here. He's the coach not me.

I think the concern I have is that he doesn't seem to have improved much since he got here. Maybe he's already reached his ceiling as far as ability goes.

Saying he doesn't look like he wants to play implies he doesn't want to play. I only spoke about his facial expressions. We can parse words but we don't know for sure whether he does or not.

Well what do you think I meant? He doesn't look like he wants to play As in his facial expressions make it look like he doesn't want to play. Besabe looked the same way.

No worries, it's all semantics. Basabe, Gatens and others didn't look like they wanted to play but probably did want to play.

Gatens?

He'll give Iowa some really good games, and then I think we'll see some games that will make us go, what's he thinking?

Gatens facial expressions during the Lick years probably did mean he wasn't enjoying playing. I'm guessing Basabe was more about looking cool. Who knows with Uhl.

McCaffery said after the game that looking at the game tape, Uhl had a better game than he originally thought. If he can give us 15-20 minutes where he plays good defense and snares a number of rebounds, I'm happy with his being on the floor.
