UCLA Fans

UCLA fanbase and the city of LA is going to absolutely destroy Steve Alford. I bet he dies of a speed OD in North Hollywood within 5 years.

Whoa... might have crossed the line a bit with that one there Brownlee.

Sportstalent, why so condescending? If people want to talk about Alford it should be free game. Always boggles my mind when people feel the need to enter a thread, and proceed to post in it questioning why others are discussing this topic. Who are you to judge what other people choose to discuss? If you don't want to then don't. Save us the Alford-like arrogance.

He was a Hawkeye coach, and he made some horrible decisions when he was here. He was never man enough to own it, and his best attempt was a forced apology statement several years later that was probably written by a lawyer. Iowans have a certain distaste for people who carry themselves like that. He's like A-Rod as a basketball coach. He deserves all the bad publicity he will end up getting out of this situation. Karma is a bi$ch.

I am not being condescending whatsoever. The guy is now at his second stop since Iowa, let it go. I have just as much dislike for the guy as anyone else, but would like to see him be an afterthought, but until Iowa gets back into the NCAA's on a regular basis and we (fanbase) can actually focus on the absolutely excellent coach that Iowa has now.

I just tire of it because if we want to keep talking about Alford, either he had success where he went, or Iowa sucks...well guess what, both happened. Granted, he didn't have the postseason success that many predicted, but he did well and somehow someway fell into one of the best jobs in college basketball, historically. I would like to see the gellyman fail, but either way, don't care at this point. Iowa is who I truly care about and not what ex-coaches are doing. There would be so little care of what gellyman is doing had Iowa made the correct hire after he left to begin with.

No need for a Lick thread. Lick just never generated enough passion to earn the kind of hate alf did.

There is no way Steve Alford will fail at UCLA if his son plays. ~Todd Lickliter

There you go guys...best of both worlds!?!? :D

Maybe he secretly had himself cloned and there could be 10 Steves plus son. No wait he loves himself too much. He'd pull his son's scholarship, and go with 11 Steves.
