Tyler Sash's Facebook Status

I would be willing to bet Anthony isn't the only one. But I also wouldn't say that he got under Tyler's skin. It can be a motivator.

Lol seriously? It doesn't matter how friendly a Clone fan is or whether or not they are actually interested in a good, logical debate. You would still troll every one of their posts.

Well, he can't troll CF any more, so home slice has gotta get his ISU fix in. Remember, this guy would post on CF during Iowa games. Totally obsessed w/ISU.

Which, according to Clone fan, is pretty much all of us.

Well, I'll put this way:

Not all Hawk fans are white trash. Most white trash, however are Hawk fans. They probably don't make up a huge % of the Iowa fan base, but seriously, how many trailer park uneducated Clone fans are there? Not very damn many. The reason is a large % of ISU fans have a college education because ISU has historically been the weaker of the 2 programs, and people who didn't go to college are a lot more inclined to cheer for Iowa because Iowa has been more successful on the field. ISU hasn't given people who don't have the connection of being ISU alums a lot of reasons to root for the Clones over the years, unless you love heartbreak.

People want to say that there's no difference between the fanbases, but there's one really big difference and that's the overall education level. It doesn't mean ISU fans are better (some of the most successful and driven people I know never went to college), but it is a significant demographical difference. Someday I hope this flips. I'd love to see more white trash place their entire self worth into Iowa State football. It's a good thing for the program, even if it makes the fans look bad from time to time.

If your argument is accurate, then it probably holds true for Northwestern fans, because at least 100 Northwestern fans stormed the field against Iowa, while the rest were probably studying in the library. Although I can't stand losing to NW, because they are doing to Iowa what ISU under Coach Mac used to do, it is hilarious to watch Northwestern fans storm the field. I think Northwestern fans are so sophisticated that they are above running smack, as well. They probably have other things to think about, like studying. Novel concept for college students, I'm sure.

Low life. Those are the words that come to mind.

My guess is it's some kid from some Chicago suburb that became an Iowa fan the last year or two because he is going to school there and is all ****** off because he won't be getting drunk in New Orleans and is lashing out at a player for it.

That's weak stuff. Real weak.

WTF?

You. Are. An. Idiot. No different than any other clown fan I know.

Do you realize what you're arguing? Get a life, troll

I'm arguing that: A) across the board ISU fans are more educated than Iowa fans. This is because pretty much every college football fan in Iowa who doesn't have a college education cheers for Iowa, due to Iowa's greater level of on-field success, while most ISU fans are people who went to that college (why else would you root for ISU?) and B) that this is a bad thing for ISU. ISU needs more non-alumni fans. Period.

What's inaccurate about that? I never said ISU fans are more intelligent or better people, just that they're more educated. You also want to grow your fanbase beyond your alumni base. Average Clone fan thinks that non-ISU alums shouldn't be allowed to be Clone fans. That's retarded. I could care less that most Iowa fans didn't go there (as long as they didn't go to ISU), I'm just saying that because of Iowa's greater historical success, unattached folks are more likely to cheer for them, and this will often include the margins of society.

I get what you're saying. In BCS conferences, I would rank the intelligence of the die hard football fans like this:

1) Vanderbilt
2) Stanford (during the bad years, maybe not so much of late)
3) Northwestern
4) Iowa State
5) Mississippi State
6) Duke
....

110) Iowa
111) Alabama
112) Mississippi
113) LSU
114) South Carolina
115) Florida...

Programs affiliated with universities that have high admission standards but that are sometimes less successful than nearby rivals tend to attract smarter fans. The average Iowa State student is right up there academically with Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt, NU and Mississippi State students and then you keep the proles from gaining interest in the program. It's a great strategy because it beats building out the stadium so the troglodyte fair weather fans stay off the bandwagon and that way the line to buy popcorn is shorter.

Everything around this Tyler Sash Facebook topic is wrong. It's wrong of Tyler Sash to post on his Facebook page that unless you've never put the pads on and played football you have no idea what you are talking about. This is the same Tyler Sash that takes every opportunity he can to interact with the crowd before plays and get the crowd pumped up and into the game. So he'll take the support from those that no nothing about the game, but he can't take a little heat from those same people that are questioning why this "great" defense can never get off the field or finish a game?

These are passionate fans that dump a lot of their hard earned money into the Iowa football team/program. So for Sash to come out and say something like that is a slap directly in the face to all of those fans.

It's also completely wrong for an Iowa "fan" to go onto Tyler's personal Facebook page after yet another tough loss and air out his displeasure. That's classless and not representitive of what a real Iowa fan would do. I was upset after the loss and upset with the defense, but I'm not going to go to their personal Facebook pages and make them feel worse than I'm sure they already did. It's an ugly situation all the way around. Frustrating seasons can bring out the worst in fans and players. That's what we are seeing here.

I don't have too big of a problem with his original post. He's got a point with that one.

I don't think Sash had a point with his original post at all. There are plenty of current D1 college football coaches out there right now that never played D1 football. I guess those coaches don't know what they're talking about either, right? Just because you haven't physically been out on the field does not mean that you cannot have knowledge of the game and know a disappointing defensive quarter when you see it.

Sash posted out of frustration and he ended up slapping a lot of Iowa football supporters in the face in the process. He basically told 99.9% of fans out there that have never played D1 football that they have no knowledge of the game and no right to be upset with the loss. That was not the way to handle the situation. A simple, we let you down this week but we'll come back strong next week would have done, even if that wasn't how he was feeling at the time. It's not like he was upset and just blurted something out. He took the time to get on the computer, login to Facebook, think of what to say, type it down, and then submit it. That's not the right thing to do.

Those coaches likely all played college football at some level. There are not many fans who understand the sacrifice these guys make. THAT is who I thought it was directed at. At the 'fans' who don't have any idea how much these guys pour into playing football.
