Sorry, but the correct answer is L Daniels(LeShun).Biggest surprise: Akrum Wadley, A Daniels and Derrick Mitchell, the Hawkeye running game.
Biggest bust: The whiners, who gave up on the Hawkeye football program
Surprising will be if we make a bowl game. We are going to be BAD.
Jay Scheel will be the the guy who opens eyes for Iowa's offense.
Andrew Stone will be a nice surprise in addition to the strong defence.
I think the O line will be a pleasant surprise.
I think the O line will be a pleasant surprise. I think one of the running backs will be the bust due to injury. I have this strange feeling that Daniels goes down again... early.
LOL. Given that an Iowa offensive line has NEVER pleasantly surprised when they have lost two or more starters from the previous year I don't think Vegas will be recruiting you as a handicapper anytime soon.
I've seen a few other people say that and I just don't see it. I mean look at how lackluster last years line was with two NFLers on it. To think that this years group would do anything other then take a step back is just not realistic from where I'm sitting. I like to base my opinions on something and as much as I'd like to see the line do well so the whole offense can I just haven't seen enough to be able to feel that way. They have to show it to me first.
Much like Daniels he hasn't been able to say healthy and that's with him having as minimal of a role as a rb can have. So he has to show me before I assume he'll have a huge role.
I predicted that Scheel will have a surprise impact this year cause coming out of HS he was a 4 star athlete that when you watched him play you could tell he just knows what to do with the ball when he has it in his hands. I see a lot of DJK to his game (for all that DJK was he sure could make some plays out there and I think we need one of those) and I hope he's fully recovered from his knee injury so he'll be good to go by August.
Believe me... I WISH I had a rational reason for thinking the O line will be a pleasant surprise... I don't... I just have a gut feeling that there will be a sense of comeraderie and drive around the mission of keeping CJB healthy and on the field. To cite an old platitude, I think the sum will be greater than the parts.
I'm really hoping so!

The oline consisted of the outland trophy winner, a 4th rd pick, 2nd team all B1G guard, next man in award winner, and a multi year starter and former 4 star recruit. Go back and look at some of the holes they opened on non-stretch plays. The problem was a fullback playing rb, predictability based on formation (multiple opponents said as much), and receivers that cant get separation.
