It wouldn't surprise me if some guys who played for the first four games of the season for the Hawks decide to take their redshirt year and or transfer. After the Wisconsin game with all the goals for the season ruined I can't blame them.
Right now, there are some significant cultural differences in the programs. We recruit kids that are bought in 95% of the time. They know what this program is all about and, although I don't think he gets enough credit for it...the KF's staff is in sync with the players. They get honest feedback and they truly have created a family atmosphere within the program. Kids are always going to transfer for various reasons...but rarely would you see a player leave like what's happening at Nebraska. Wiegers for example...he got beat out by Stanley in fall camp...he didn't abandon his team...he was committed, and transferred at the end of the season. It may have been that he had no choice...i'm not sure of the eligibility on him.
This new 4 game rule is interesting and maybe we don't really fully understand how it will play out. I don't think the intention or expectation was that kids will be transferring after they have played their 4 games. Both these kids were playing and expected to get playing time at Nebraska. They just bailed because they didn't want to be there.
The QB who quit after Martinez beat him out was also an interesting one.
