Two more gone

It wouldn't surprise me if some guys who played for the first four games of the season for the Hawks decide to take their redshirt year and or transfer. After the Wisconsin game with all the goals for the season ruined I can't blame them.

Right now, there are some significant cultural differences in the programs. We recruit kids that are bought in 95% of the time. They know what this program is all about and, although I don't think he gets enough credit for it...the KF's staff is in sync with the players. They get honest feedback and they truly have created a family atmosphere within the program. Kids are always going to transfer for various reasons...but rarely would you see a player leave like what's happening at Nebraska. Wiegers for example...he got beat out by Stanley in fall camp...he didn't abandon his team...he was committed, and transferred at the end of the season. It may have been that he had no choice...i'm not sure of the eligibility on him.

This new 4 game rule is interesting and maybe we don't really fully understand how it will play out. I don't think the intention or expectation was that kids will be transferring after they have played their 4 games. Both these kids were playing and expected to get playing time at Nebraska. They just bailed because they didn't want to be there.

The QB who quit after Martinez beat him out was also an interesting one.

I still think long term Frost is gonna get a winner out there. When you bring it down to a base level, he’s a fighter, he’s literally the epitome of a freckle-face-red-head Andy Cornhusker, it must be his main goal in life to yield a winner in Lincoln. Yes, he ran his mouth too much too early, and I think it was to try to get more buy-in from players who he saw sitting on the fence. They aren’t good now. They have transfer issues. Players aren’t fully invested. They’re a program in serious flux. They aren’t physical enough. But, given time, which he will get, he’ll get the right players for his system and his mentality. The AD is an idiot. As far as I’m concerned, if you’re an AD you should keep your mouth shut. The fan base and press is intolerable with their homerism. But, he will get some players and some consistency.

It's a catch 22. The problems Nebraska is having right now will make Frost's rebuild that much longer. They might have gone from a 3 year turnaround to a 5 year one. It looks like Frost will have to completely turn this roster over to cure the rot inside the program. People seem to think he will be given forever to right the ship, but I don't believe that. I believe that if Nebraska isn't winning 7+ games as a floor by the end of year 4 Frost will be gone. It could very well be that entering year 4 Frost has yet to produce even a winning team. I don't see Nebby fan loyalty surviving that kind of losing. Frost is definitely in a danger zone.

Tip on posting...it's always good to offer more information not less and ensure your thread title has some discernible correlation to your actual post.

You will also not see this post in the "dumbest football comment" thread if you tighten things up a little. Like maybe mentioning what recruits they lost or something.

It would be like saying, "I was at a restaurant the other day and went to the bathroom. I then saw some guy wiping his butt with his bare hands. When I then returned to my table, I saw the same guy making tacos in the kitchen." What piece of information is missing?

Im just wondering how you would see a guy wiping his ass with his hand, unless you were peeking under the stall.

What substance was he wiping off of his hands?
