I'm thinking not because he made the depth chart. My guess is that they're giving Colbert the nod for now, but it could also be that Welch isn't 100%. If Welch wasn't well enough to play he wouldn't be on the depth chart.

KF has said on several different occasions that LB is the one area that they're going to let the competition roll into the season. I think this is just how it's playing out and they're going with the "hot hand".

It would also be interesting to see them test a 5-2 in certain situations. With the strength and speed of our front four and the depth there they could cause havoc. Phil has a lot of flexibility with the 8 athletes we have playing up front.
