I never noticed they had ISM as punt returner. Why do they never put him in or have two guys back there to mix it up.

Things I don’t fully understand / embrace:
Nixon is clearly ahead of Shulte. Why is he not the starter? Does he not know that spot? That’s questionable because I’ve seen him out there with Lattimore. Either way good to see Reiff back on there.
Same thing for Brents. Are we going to just sit him behind OJ all year because we are saying he’s a left corner? I do like DJ Johnson and what he’s doing but Penn State has a lot of speed so we might need the 4-2-5. Hopefully that includes Brents at corner and DJ at cash, time will tell.
Those are little nitpicky type things. Will be interesting to see if they shake things up on the offensive line.

Stanley does have a redshirt available, he played a few snaps as a true freshman (which is a moot point since he’s out of eligibility now).
If the current rules that were in place today were there when he was a freshman he would be a redshirt junior right now.
Guffus to answer your question no you cannot use a redshirt after you’ve already used up your 4 years of eligibility.
This one. It’s the most stubborn staff in college football and will never change because no one makes them
I don’t have a problem with DJ at the corner, but it’s time for Brents to play. He was excellent last year and needs to be on the field as a nickel or cash. It’s the old your best 11 need to be on the field. It’s nitpicky, because the defense was excellent.

Honestly they should’ve benched Alaric and gone back to the orientation they had with Wirfs at LT in the fourth quarter Saturday. If he continues to struggle mightily, the staff needs to find something that works.

So, is Brents healthy but still not starting? Has Johnson really passed him or is Brents not healthy enough for 100% go? Same with Merriweather...?

The word we got last week was basically Merriweather had been passed by Koerner, and Brents was not at 100%.
