Two-Deep for Nebraska Game

At this point does it really matter what the line up card says for either team? Nebraska will go out and try to give the game away with stupid mistakes and Iowa will go out and run the most obvious plays so they give Nebraska the best field position possible with a 10 yard punt.

Nebby will score some points and let it all hang out.

Will Iowa?

Spielman and Morgan Stanley will be their biggest weapons and tgey will cross Spielman across the field against LB, he is their biggest weapon.

Without pressure on Lee he becomes a decent passer with WRs with ability.

Nebbys run game has been non existent all year.

I am as low on Iowa as I've been for years, these last 2 weeks on offense and special teams have been...beyond deflating.

I would love it if someone would ask Kirk why in the world Rastetter is punting instead of Gersonde. Rastetter is the worst punter, no hyperbole, that I've ever seen at the college level. When we need a big punt we're lucky if we get 30 yards, and when we need a finesse punt we get a touchback. He is remarkably bad for a D1 punter.

About $4.5 million a year, that's what.

Money--no matter how much--doesn't give anyone the "right" to class envy. I almost wish contract terms weren't made public. Take the damn money off the table. If Kirk were getting $450,000 per year versus $4.5 million, would you be "less" pissed about the way things have gone? Me neither. If the team were 11-0 right now, nobody would say, "$4.5 million isn't enough!" They WOULD bitch, however, if he went somewhere else for more money.

Money isn't the issue here. Pay the staff 10 cents, the season still sucks.

I would ask why either of them is punting. Gersonde was no better.

Depends. Other "expert" types said it pressure/friction from/with GD that caused Soup's demise.

yeah, that is what i had heard. GD wanted "his guy" as wr coach. the issue was Soup didn't "get" GD's offensive philosophy. looking back on it; Soup is lucky he didn't.

Davis wanted Kennedy. They worked together at Texas. It was thought that would help the transition. It didn't work out.

Is it too early to begin talking about bringing GD and Kennedy back? After the past two weeks I think its clear that they were working miracles with this offense and the narrow range of options they were allowed to work with.

This season is in flames anyway, why not toss Cooper out there and give him a shot?
Agree completely. I've been pushing that idea for weeks. Cooper has the right skill set for PR, but he needs a chance to show that he can be reliable.

It's nice to see Hankins get the starting nod. Really high on that young man. I think he and Turner will end up being outstanding DBs. Along with our current commits, the future is bright at DB.

i was all for seeing ISM, BS and Coop get extensive play this season. But, well, it is what it is with out coach. ISM has gotten a good amount, but BS and Coop haven't. So, we all have next season to look forward to with only 2 wr's with any real game experience. I guess you can't be a development team if you plug in players and they perform right away; they have to slowly simmer through the season.

ISM = drops mcgee. the only place he should be starting is right corner.

I cannot say that ISM hasn't dropped too many passes. he has. it would be interesting, though, to see total count of drops. I think NE would be right up there, if not tied or leading. But I do believe ISM will be money. sometimes dropping the ball can be like the yips. The last thought going through your mind before the ball touches your hands is "i better not drop it." I am very willing to give ISM every chance and more to prove he can fix this issue. He just has so much potential to be dynamic that he's worth it, in my opinion.

The thing that bothers me with his drops is they have all come in big parts of the game with him being considerably open and they hit him right in the hands. It isn't like he has had guys draped all over him and missed them. I hope it is just lack of experience. The problem we have had with all drops is it seems like they have all been at big times of the game with potential big gains to keep drives going. It isn't like they are being dropped on first down. Also, they need to stop the jet sweep to ISM. His running ability is not great. Use it with Wadley or someone with better shakes. ISM just runs right into guys

that is exactly why i equate it having the yips. I can't remember the guys name that played 2nd base for the Dodgers. He was rookie of the year and then a couple years later developed a serious case of the yips to the point where he couldn't through a routine ball to first base. Its the "oh my goodness, everyone is watching and this is so easy I can't screw it up" kind of thing. Hey, i've done it before in HS hoops, "i'd better not miss the uncontested layup" so, of course, i missed it.

I hope this is all it is...all mental.
