Two B1G teams to BCS?

Thanks for addressing my question SILV.

I probably MIS-titled the Original Post, as I am getting lots of debate on this year in the B1G getting 2 teams into BCS.

I meant to ask if the Championship game would have a negative role in the B1G getting 2 BCS Bowls in any given year.

We have yet to see how the Big Ten having a championship game affects things, but I think it's been safe to say that in some years in the past, the Big Ten certainly benefited by NOT having the extra game.

As the OP points out, the championship game this year will certainly guarantee that the Big Ten does not get a 2nd BCS team.

The four BCS at large bids will go to:
SEC #2 school
Oklahoma or Texas or Penn State(but not Oklahoma State)
Boise State or Houston
Big Ten #2 school or Pac-12 #2

Big games that will impact the BCS the rest of the year:
Oregon at Stanford
Kansas State at Texas
Arkansas at LSU
Penn State's entire remaining schedule

In my opinion, there is an 80% chance that this will be Joe Pa's final year at Penn State. Bowl committees know this. If Penn State doesn't win the Big Ten and is eligible for a BCS game, they will be picked for a BCS bowl. Any bowl would love to play host to the final game of Paterno's career.

To answer the primary question, I think that only once every few years the Big Ten championship runner up will fall out of the top 14 because of that loss, so maybe once every five or six years the championship game could hurt the conference's chances at 2 BCS teams.

Texas and Oklahoma will not be the auto qualifier at this time has both have lost, OSU is still undefeated and appears to have the inside track to the NCG, still to many things to happen at this stage to even worry about the BCS matchups
