Is that what conservative is? More like deceitful. How telling....and sad...and shameful. Is there that much to "hide"? I would think it would make a parent to think twice, or more, about where to allow their kids to attend school.

I've read the contract...it specifically states payout not allowed to be offset by future earnings. Only one I've ever seen and it's probably the only one in existence.

MOre proof Barta's AS* should've been canned upon learning that he did something so irresponisible as that type of deal.

So KF's contract is the athletic equivalent to a tenured UofI professor.

Maybe not such a big deal after all.



There's probably a couple of dozen tenured professors wasting taxpayer money by not doing their jobs, too. At least there is a choice in supporting Iowa athletics.

My wife asked the same question. It definitely doesn't provide much incentive to win or actually try to keep his job.

I would disagree. He has built in incentives for bowl games, BCS bowl games, conference championships, etc. He has incentives. Also, I believe he truly wants to win; he was definitely frustrated a lot this season and you could tell in his pressers.

And no, I'm not a Ferentz apologist. I'm a realist.
