TV Hawk Fan Sighting

Hey I can't complain, I love seeing Hawk gear all over Colorado. Recently had a Nebraska fan move in the house, she is amazed by all the Iowans out here. I see one Iowa St fan out here, I don't like him or know him.

I also did all of us a favor out here and put Tigerhawks on all of our cars, at least 10!

I believe you are looking at this all wrong. The U of I did such a great job of preparing us we became citizens of the world. ;)

Though you're saying that tongue-in-cheek, it's somewhat true. You'll find Iowan's all over the country in positions of significance. I think it speaks well, not only to the U of I, but what our citizens offer in general.

(despite what some snarky academic-lib professor might think. after all...look where he is)

I miss Iowa everytime I go back, not necessarily the weather, the dirt roads, or the tractors that block traffic on HWY 1. But the people are so much nicer and friendly, if you get a flat out here good luck getting anyone to stop for you. Back home I would be surprised if the first person that drove up didn't..... Iowa might be missing some big city offerings but in the big picture its somewhere I wish I could raise my kids. Unfortunately I cant make my salary there like I do here but if I was a recruit and I looked into the fanbase and what Iowa offers it would be the smart choice over A LOT of the other schools. Once again just my opinion, but having moved from there and now going back to visit I miss it.

We moved back here for that reason to raise our kids. It has been benificial and worth the sacrifice for the five years here, but career and income are calling us to move away as of late. I've succumbed to the rationale that many families are able to raise their kids in good environments outside the borders of Iowa, and still instill Hawkeye traditions and love, in spite of not being surrounded by family. It is slightly tearing at me, but it will always be available to visit. And yes, the winters do bite here.

There's fans of all sorts in Alaska. My aunt and uncle just moved to Anchorage (I think) and there's a bar near their house that caters to most fan bases.
