TV for NIU/Iowa

ESPN3 is actually very cool, and it's fairly easy to hookup your laptop or desktop computer to a flat screen TV. The quality is near HD, so it is solid. If I can't make it to the game, I'll be watching it on my 52". Better than listening on the radio.

ESPN3 is actually really cool for Xbox. It's pretty much the same thing as watching the game through your cable/sat. Also, the games are all on-demand so you can watch them anytime. It's well worth your Xbox live subscription fee if you are a college football fan. You can get a lot of games that are blacked out in your area too on ESPN/ABC.

But you still need to get your internet/cable through certain providers. I have DirecTV and Century Link so am left in the dark.

I've watched quite a few events on ESPN3 on my media computer connected to my TV. Watched the Hawks NIT game w/ Oregon that way. What an ugly court...

There is a really good chance that the game will be shown at The Strand theatre in West Liberty. They have shown nearly all of the games for the last 3 years for free. They provide the license, we buy the popcorn. Watching CF on a 35 foot screen in digital 2K is pretty spectacular if you haven't checked it out. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere is great, lot's of black and gold and it get's so loud in there you can't hear the announcers some times. Inexpensive and cool for the entire family.

How do we know for sure that this is not a "home" game for Iowa? The game is just listed as Iowa vs N Illinois not Iowa at N Illinois.

This is NOT a home game for Iowa. If it was...it would be at Kinnick. This will just FEEL like a home game for Iowa. I ordered my 12 tickets today from Bravo Sports in North Liberty.

Can someone please tell me how to access espn3 through a PS3? I can't seem to figure it out, and some folks on the interwebs say it can only be accessed through a 360. Thank you in advance!

You have to have an internet or cable provider that supports ESPN3. They keep adding more providers so I would think everyone would be fine by this Fall. You than need an xbox live account on top of that. You can buy a 3 month subscription for around $30. It's well worth it though. An awsome way to watch college football.

Actually, as my 10 year old son has discovered, you can get 3 months for 10$, cancel and then do it over for 3 for 10$....kids.

Still think it will not be an issue.

Some poster on HR says he is in the know on these things and the game has a 90% chance to get picked up by TV. Some ESPN channel.

I would think by mid June we will know.

Comcast Chicago does many NIU games so I suspect they might get the game in the end. That is fine for DirectTV folks, like my parents in NW Iowa,as they get ComcastChicago.
