Trump supporters, how do you square this?

I hear you, but ironically I'm more concerned about what the future. Not sure if it's a good thing or not, but I honestly expect the constant pissing matches with Russia and North Korea. I agree that it's worse now then 4 years ago, but at the same time I think Trump has an unhealthy relationship with both of them so it naturally dies down with him in office and seemed to worsen around the election cycles. What scares the hell out of me is were 3 weeks into his presidency and we've almost started a trading war with allies, we've talked of national growth by taking over allied nations, and now he wants to rebuild Gaza. It just rubs me the wrong way because campaigning it was all about ending wars and conflicts and building America up and now it seems like it was nothing more then lies that got votes.
If our allies are taking advantage of us with trades (I'm not saying they for sure are) would you be ok with Trump trying to fix that?

As far as expanding our country goes. If Trump finds a country like Greenland who decides they want to join the US, I think that's a good thing. If he ever tries to take a country by force, he will have about a 10% approval rating. And for the record, I won't be in that 10%.

There's a HUGE difference from being interviewed as a celebrity and what is expected out of a President.
Correct but it started right away. If it was done naturally, there would have been a window of time where it slowly (or quickly) changed. It was an instant 180. Per the words of his kid. Again, take that with a grain of salt. I don't have personal members of how Trump was treated before.

Whats your opinion on Tulsi Gabbert? She was a very moderate Democrat so would be exactly what this country needs. Someone who is more towards the middle than pushing the extreme luke we keep getting. I'm agra8d every time a politician comes along that will give the people what they want, a smear campaign will start immediately. Because the biggest issue we have right now is what's best for the people doesn't line up with what's best for the government.
Not sure what I think as I'm not too familiar with her, but I'd be willing to give her a chance and keep an open mind.

I've once heard one of Trump's kids being interviewed (can't remember which one and take it with a grain of salt because it was his kid). But the point was, Trump knew he was going to get attacked some running for president but they were all blown away by the complete 180 flip of how everyone treated him and talked about him. Have you seen past videos of people like Oprah talking to Trump? It's like the twilight zone. Imagine living your whole adult life with most everyone around you liking you (or at least acting like it) and then it changes on a dime to everyone shitting on you. There is absolutely no doubt Trump handles the media shitty. But I can also see what it would do to someone who had that 180 switch done on them. You gotta be in a news interview thinking "what in the hell is going on right now?
I think, and this is only a thought with no factual basis, but wonder if part of that at the Hollywood level is they're all the in the same boat and public figures so I think they very easily click because they have that in common. Maybe though, and again all speculation and nothing more then a hunch, but maybe knowing him better then we do they saw the writing on the wall that he wasn't necessarily president material and distanced themselves to avoid the press, since Hollywood is all about who's who and image.

I'm not sure where I see it in terms of us being "taken advantage of" what I have an issue with his how he starts a conversation about Canada who voices they have no interest, then shortly after we're threatening Canada with tariff's and "claiming they have nothing to offer" and then making a blanket statement that tariffs wouldn't be an issue if they were the 51st state. IMO that seems like they're putting an economic squeeze on them trying to forcefully pressure/persuade them into reconsidering. To me that's not about about trade at all and I'm definitely against it.

In these instances he doesn't care about them, the country, or how they'd benefit. He cares about expansion and resources. Why not make Puerto Rico a state if were looking to add additional states? I mean I know why because they're already a territory and there's no additional benefit. IF Canada or Greenland approach us then maybe, but if we're pursuing and using tariff's and trade to do so I'm completely against it. And I'm definitely not ok with our government or country going into Gaza and turning that into a financial opportunity.

I guess I was just ahead of my time then...

On the surface she's everything Democrat voters want. Woman of color who is moderate. Ran for president in 2020 and got hit with a smear campaign.

Very reasonable thoughts.

Broad strokes again. I want who's best for the nomination.

That's like me saying every Republican wants a white male.

The timeliness definitely looks like that. There could very well be a lot of stuff behind the scenes that we don't know tho.

I've mentioned before but the Gaza thing I want no part of either. You can make an argument that if Israel says after October 7th there's no way you are staying here, so either leave or die, then I suppose maybe it's better if we help move them. But again, I give two shits if it's better for them. Us staying out of it is definitely better for us. But then again, when does the US ever stay out of other countries business?

Oh I completely agree. But for whatever reason that's what a lot of democrats want. Trust me, I'm sure I think that ides is even dumber than you do. But putting aside the woman of color part for a second, I also said moderate. I think that's something 90% of the country wants. Unfortunately, the people who get to decide are in the 10%
