True or False: Basketball players are playing for their coach tomorrow

I don't care how bad your season, I cannot imagine any athlete not wanting to go play games. Do athletes get sick of practice? Yes. Games? No way. You can't tell me that any of our athletes aren't excited to play in the big 10 tournament. I don't care how bad the season has been.

And for those people that think they have stopped playing hard, they haven't. They are overmatched and their confidence is low. That makes them look slow and like they aren't trying. The problem is generally that they care too much.

I would hope Iowa comes out with fire in their eyes knowing that if they can win the tournament, as difficult as that might be, that they could be in the NCAA. That four games of shooting lights out will get them an automatic bid regardless of what the season was all about. These games are about nothing but that...period. The game(s) are not about the coach, about them, about anything other than another chance and that is what they should be looking at.

If they go into the game thinking this is their last game and they just want the season to be over, then they will get just what they deserve...another blowout. They will go through the motions and game over, season over.

It is the coaches responsibilty to get the players ready to play regardless of which game it is during the season. If they come out flat, like they have been then that tells me a lot about this staff but then I haven't had any confidence in this staff for a long while now anyway.

Tomorrow they have a bad matchup but unless they play NW or Indiana any team in the Big 10 is a bad matchup for Iowa these days to be honest.
