Trouble in the Twin Cities

Lets say it was 100% consensual (for arguement sakes) why does having sexual intercourse with 1 drunk female and 10 of your buddies sound like fun? I don't buy the alcohol excuse because I've consumed my fair share and this never even crossed my mind.

Something definitely seems "off" with this whole scenario. And considering Coach Claeys is "supporting" the players, it would appear the decision was made without ANY input from him. Not saying he should make the final decision, but I get the impression he perceives "unfairness".

No sarcasm. Keep that drama up there. Sounds like the players are going to boycott their bowl game. No matter how you slice this it's a fiasco I'm glad isn't going on around Iowa City now. I don't know the half of what's going on up there but none of it's good. Be it the players aren't getting a fair shake or if there's more to the story of whatever all it is they did. Just such a bad deal all around.
 
I am probably missing something, but there are numerous references to a "gang bang" in this thread. But I have seen no evidence that this is an act that is actually under investigation. Is this just speculation? Yes, a serious question.

In all seriousness, once the first "hit" takes place, I can't imagine having interest. If I'm number 10? About the only question I would have is, "Hey, can we get that phone/camera ix-nayed?"

Well, that and, "Excuse me, folks, but is anyone here a little creeped besides me?"

I had the same thought process. I am old so is pulling a train the same deal as a gangbang? Back in the day everyone would say you always wanted to go first. Maybe that is an urban legend the same thing as the girl who masturbated with the frozen hot dog. I have watched a few gangbang scenes on porn sites and I don't get the appeal. You are crossing swords with other dudes, no one knows anyones std history. Other than a porn star or a prostitute I can't imagine any women giving consent to that.

Some women may have a fantasy about being ravaged by a bunch of dudes, but that is just it, a fantasy, they don't want that shit to become real EVER.
 
Aspects of the case:

Even if consensual, recording the activity may have been a crime up to 3 years under certain criteria. The information was disseminated by several players via text.

The recruit was a minor and video taping a minor as pornography is a serious offense.

The police apparently did not involve a female investigator but had a male as the lead investigator.

The 22 yo woman and her family reached an agreement to prevent harassment according to university policy which involved barring some of the players from the stadium as the woman works at the stadium.

Up to 20 football players may have been involved.

The initial act as consensual has not been determined. The bigger problem is what happened next with multiple people (up to 20), videoing the early stages of the encounter and disseminating the encounter. The recruit videoed is a huge issue.

The woman does have a right on any campus for protection. The stadium/football facilities is a big problem as she is an employee.

20 would be an enormous percentage of the football team.

I think the implications are as follows:
--"Pulling a train" equals "She is drunk enough to like it, sober enough to stay awake, and it wasn't THAT many guys, but won't take to Facebook to brag on it"
--"Gang Bang" equals "Still consensual, but the level of participation is a tad bit intimidating, and if word gets out, she definitely hated it"

Beyond that, we're probably talking zero debate on "consent", not to mention the fact 10 to 20 guys don't mind being video-ed, which is beyond "creepy".

One question somebody mentioned to me: if you're number, oh, five through ten, do you ask if she's using protection? Do you even care?

Howard Stern. Apparently, each time a girl sets a new, ahem, "record", they want to be on his show. I saw one back in the early 1990s. That was back when the record was only in the 100s or 200s. Evidently, we're now well past those numbers.

She seemed pretty proud of herself. I honestly, to this day, am perplexed by that.
