Here's some good pub on how the draft is looking at Tristan Wirds, from the AZ Republic:
In their latest mock drafts, Kiper and Jeremiah both have the Cardinals selecting offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs, a junior from Iowa. Wirfs can play either tackle position but has spent most of his career on the right side, which is where the Cardinals presently have an area of need considering they just re-signed left tackle D.J. Humphries to a three-year contract extension.
Like others, Kiper and Jeremiah believe Wirfs could be pushed inside and turn into a potential All-Pro at guard. Wirfs could dispel that notion and insist he is a tackle, however, with a strong performance at the combine.
Kiper has Wirfs as the second offensive tackle off the board, following Alabama’s Jedrick Wills to the Chargers at No.6. Jeremiah has Louisville’s Mekhi Becton going No.4 to the Giants, Wills to the Chargers at 6, and then Wirfs to Arizona at 8 with Georgia’s Andrew Thomas going to the Browns at No.10.
Jeremiah includes Wirfs as one of the top prospects who has the most to gain next week in Indianapolis, saying, “If he goes out there and puts on an athletic show, which I’ve heard there’s a chance he does, then he can kind of put that to bed and say, ‘Look, I am a tackle. I’m not sliding inside. That’s what I am.’ So, I think he’s got a chance to help himself there.”
