Traveling/Cartwright "foul"

To me, they are nearly facing the sideline. And while the contact seems to be on the back, it looks as though its on the complete opposite side of the close official. So that official may have missed the contact completely, just might not have seen it. OR, just MAYBE, he didn't make the right call! Could it be?

As much as I hated the call at that point and hate defending it, this has been my point. I suspect it was the right call.

What is funny if you look at the picture that photohawk posted(nice work by the way) is that the official that made the call is standing on the sideline and has a perfect angle of the contact. The official that supposedly had this "great" angle is on the baseline so the Wisconsin player is blocking his view of the contact. Cartwright is behind him. The better angle nonsene doesn't hold water. Case closed.

Click on the photo on Clem's site (it's the 7th photo on page 6 of the Recent Photos gallery at the top of http://photos.rockbottomphoto.com, then blow it up using the enlarge option Clem provides; very clear Bryce's arm is across Taylor's neck and upper back. Good call by the trail official.

So you are saying the Trail official's call of traveling is the correct, call? The bottom line is, nobody really knows for sure if there was contact or not so it goes back to the question of, How in the world does the lead official call a foul 40 feet from the play when nobody on here can come to an agreement if contact was made.

Look at the picture. Do you see where they are? That official is RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. Do you see where Bo Ryan is? The other official is way further down than he is and you could probably draw a straight line to the baseline to where the players were.

Will one of you just admit that it is the guy on the sideline's call to make? Seriously.

These are all great questions that nobody knows the answer to except for an official 40 feet from the play!
