transfer rumors from past years

I suggest everyone look back a few years ago when there were rumors galore on this same forum that both Jeff Horner and Greg Brunner were gone. Many cited inside info, being close to the staff and/or players, etc. As I am sure all will remember, both graduated from UI and played through their entire careers. We are hearing the same stuff now, just about different players. No one likes to lose, and no doubt some players who are not getting as much PT as they would like have thought about transferring. But let's face facts, if you are struggling on a team that is not playing well, you are not a hot commodity at the BT level. I applaud Jon for shutting down a recent thread that was nothing but rumors and Lick bashing. I have no idea what the future holds, but I would bet that we will play out the year with the current players and staff, and I hope things look up as the season progresses. I for one will watch and support our current team, and ignore "inside info" about departures.
 
What about the rumors of Tyler Smith, Tony Freeman, Jake Kelly and Jeff Peterson transferring? Those turned out to be true. I've found that the MB are a lot more accurate then they were 3-4 years ago. And of course the players are going to deny it during the season.

No, No they aren't. They're filled with just as much sh** an innuendo as the past. Trust me. My life is posting on message boards.

Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn on occaision...
 
I don't pay attention to rumors about transfers until the players actually announce they are transferring and that doesn't happen until mid semester or end of semester. Saying that, it is always interesting how true some of the rumors end up but then if you thow enough mud against the wall some of it is bound to stick....

The things we've heard the past couple of years have turned out to be pretty accurate.

That said, rumors are just rumors. Some are b.s., others have some merit. We don't know which is the case with what we've been hearing this week. Until something happens, I am taking it with a grain of salt.
