Trackign Ads?

Is this forum tracking the cookies of us as individuals and placing the ADs on the page? If so this is illegal. I believe tracking ADs can monitor thread subjects but they cannot poke into each of us as individuals browsing history. If porn ads start popping up I am going to blame a cyclone poster for them.

I don't think it's tracking cookies anyway...I think the ads you're seeing are being based off keywords in the threads. For example, the thread about Notre Dame had their advertisement in it when I saw it on another guys computer. Probably using Google service for the ad portion I am guessing.

I block them anyway, so it's not an issue. Firefox and adblock plus are good for most of that.

This. I still can't believe people use IE. The add-ons feature is pretty cool.

It's there, it's what people know. That's the main reason. The same reason why so many people still have MSN as their home page.

This is what is taking place. google generates its ads by discussions on the board and inside the threads.

The ad I'm getting is the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. They must have a pretty bad company running their Google advertising campaign.
