I'm curious if your list is different than mine. These are not in any particular order...not sure how I'd rank them anyway.

2002 Michigan

2016 Michigan

2004 Ohio State

2017 Ohio State

2009 Michigan State

2005 LSU Bowl

2004 Florida Bowl

2015 Nebraska

2002 Penn State

2008 Penn State

2009 Penn State

I would add

2001 Texas Tech bowl win

2003 Michigan

2004 Wisconsin

2008 Minnesota

2009 South Carolina bowl win

2010 Georgia Tech bowl win

2010 Michigan State

2011 Pitt

2011 Michigan

2013 Northwestern

2013 Michigan

2013 Nebraska

2015 Pitt

2015 NorthWestern

2017 Iowa State

The 2017 tOSU team is the best team we’ve beaten since Michigan 1985 imo. The 2016 Michigan team was also very good. I guess it depends on how you define best win.

Had this conversation with a coworker the other day. He insisted that 2008 Penn State was the best team the Hawks had faced in the Ferentz era. A lot of people don’t realize that team only had two wins all year against teams with a winning record, MSU and OSU. ‘08 Penn State was largely a year of blowouts vs shit teams.

The Orange Bowl win against GT has to be in the top 4 since 1, it was a BCS game and first Jan 1 top 4 game the hawks had won since the 50's and 2. it was against a quality opponent who had been drilling teams and the hawks totally shut them down.

I agree with most of all of the games on the OPs list and add a few others. The 2 wins against LSU and Florida were top 10 because those were top teams from the so called best conference.

I think the 2015 win at Wisconsin was huge and revenge for the 2010 loss to Wisconsin.

I would also add the 2000 win against a ranked, Big Ten champ Northwestern was a very big victory (Bob Sanders coming out party)

2008 Minnesota? I don't remember anything about that game.

Memorable for few different reasons

It was the Gophers last game ever in the Metrodome.
Iowa won 55-0
Shonn Greene set the single season rushing record at Iowa
Stanzi threw 3 TD passes.

And....

2 Iowa fans got in trouble for having sex in the Metrodome bathroom.

now I remember. It was a thrashing

That game goes on the best beatdowns list. Not the best wins list.

I am beginning to think we all have different definitions of "best" wins. Maybe the original poster needs to clarify what he means.

Is it the best teams Iowa has beat?
Is it the most entertaining wins?
Is it the most meaningful wins?
Is it the most memorable wins?

While not in quite in the same echelon, the Mizzou bowl game was a pretty impressive win in my book. Spread team with like 5 pro's on the offense and we still held them. It was there second to last year in the Big 12 and Pinkel looked to have things rolling. He was recruiting really well. They were coming off of the 21st best recruiting class that year and next year they weren't even top 50. It's hard not to correlate that bowl loss with some loss of wind in the Missouri sails.

1. Michigan 2002 - This was Iowa's "arrival" game and probably its peak under KF
2. PSU 2002 - KF's first really big win
3. PSU 2009 - Set the stage for a great Iowa team
4. Ohio St 2017 - Probably the best overall team KF has ever beaten and behind USC 2002 was probably the best team Iowa has ever played in the KF era
5. (tie) Wisconsin 2004 & 2015 - First one gained them a share of the B1G championship and the second was the biggest win for their last division title.

This, then some.

The Ohio St beatdown in 17....for me.....was the most enjoyable beatdown of a team I have ever seen at Kinnick in person. For all of the frustration the Buckeyes have caused us over the years, it felt really, really, really, really good. And, that was a big time legit team we beat. I believe this is Kirk's best win on his resume.

Iowa didn't beat Wisconsin in 2000, but I believe that was the day that Bob Sanders knocked Chris Chambers out of the game. Benny Sapp was a beast that day too. So was Fred Barr. We didn't win, but we played sixty minutes with a team we didn't belong on the same field with one year earlier. Help had arrived.

A lot of good games listed here. What about Minnesota 2002? The win gave Iowa a share of the Big Ten title with OSU. and was our first undefeated conference season since the early 1920s. And we tore down their goal post.
