Interesting read, although is reads as though the writer is expecting the Hawks to struggle this year.

This guy seems to really know the Hawkeyes.....he diagnosed all our issues quite accurately. As he said, we have nobody that needs to be game-planned for on the offensive end....unless maybe Peter steps up. I am surprised he ranked us that high, after his precise analysis of all our issues. I agree that I am not sure we have a single player who can take the ball and go one on one vs a defender and beat him. Dev could do that....now? not sure.

Sure, but sometimes, not having the go to player at the end of the game can be used to a team's advantage. So, who do they plan to stop? They don't know who's getting the ball.

Remember Dayton and their NCAA tourney run last year? Their leading scorer averaged 12.2 points/game. #2 was at 11.9 points/game. #3 was at 11.2 points/game. The reason I didn't list their names is because no one knows who they were.

Defense will end up being the key to the Hawkeyes' season. If they can play better defense and get stops at the end of the shot clock/games like they didn't last year, the team will be better. If not, this team will struggle against good teams.

The guy we haven't seen play...Dickerson...he can beat his guy...but it's most likely a dish. Clemmons and Gessell have the capability also...they will both be stronger and hopefully finish better. Gessell has hops, but didn't finish well last year. Here's to those three stepping up.

Whar recruiting misses? Whar ISU? Whar Woodbury can't dunk? Whar Whitey can't hit a jumper? Whar the defense? Whar Mike Gesell gonna lose his starting spot to Trey? WHARRRR MARBLE TO NBA DOOM????

Iowa will have another solid team this year, but I really have no idea how good to expect them to be. I expect fringe bubble team again, I guess.

Uh, it's been doom and gloom up in here since March. I am not trying to stir any pot, but to say this board has been anything but overly negative on Iowa Basketball this entire off season would be a stretch. Sure there are a select few of us that see positives, but this place has been over run with trolls since we lost to TN.

I expect a fringe bubble team too, and I personally think that's a reasonable expectation and not a reason to think Iowa sucks, but that's the sentiment most on HN and Twitter alike think.
