Top 150 college football players for 2017

Not to mention whatever yards he gets returning kicks/punts....

I really doubt Kirk will let Wadley return kicks/punts since he's probably going to get 30 carries a game.

But agree with your other point about no national coverage. 1,400 yards and 13 tds last year, 6.4 yards per carry... and doesn't even get a mention.

What a joke. He's gotta be top 5 running back easy.
Total joke.. He might not do it but I could see this happen. Wadley could put up better stats across the board than PSUs stud Barkley. But he might get a trip to NYC for the Heisman while Wadley don't.... I sure as heck don't want to see that happen but I can't say I'd be too surprised if it were to play out that way. Wadley would have to not only put up monster stats but Iowa will have to win. Like 9 games or better to be in the running for it. I bet that'll be the straw that the media uses to hold him down...

It'll be interesting. I could see him do a little of it. Maybe not full time of both. I'm not so certain he'll get 30ish touches a game either. If it was closer to 20-25 it might seem more realistic. They have other capable bodies that can handle 5-10 touches each if need be too. I doubt KF will want to try putting Shonn Greene like workhorse touches on him. If Iowa is to have any shot at beating the good BIG teams later in the year they'll need a fresh healthy Wadley to do it.

Can't wait to see Wyoming and their super stud quarterback light up the scoreboard at Kinnick Stadium!

I don't see any way that AW gets 30 carries per game. I see him getting maybe 18-22 carries with probably another 3-4 receptions per game. KF is also on record as AW being part of the punt return unit.

cyfans are crowing about Lazard being ranked 141st. I remember a Lazard recruited to ISU. We were told he was the freatest in the land, a sure fire first rounder. I wonder what happened to him.

Kamari CottonMoya makes the list, but not one of the best backs in the country?!?! Lol. Wadley could've went pro last year. Cotton Moya was sucking it up for one of the worst teams in the country. That alone makes the list bs

I'm perfectly happy with 20 carries a game, 5 receptions, and a few punt returns. He isn't the biggest guy, so you don't want to wear him down. Especially if we have some blowouts (which is rare....but when they do happen we seem to play starters till the last minute)

You find creative ways to get him the ball. If the run game isn't going, you get him involved in the passing game. If we need a spark on special teams, throw him on kickoffs/punts.

There is no way Wadley should be returning punts. Kicks I am all for but he is too valuable and fumble prone to have him in those situations. Also, if Wadley is getting 30 carries a game from behind the line we have some issues. He should be getting 20 carries and catching at least 5 balls a game if he gets 30 touches a games from various avenues then fine but I don't know if he can keep healthy pounding the line for 30 carries a game behind the line of scrimmage. Besides I think we have some talent behind him so there is no reason to not keep him fresh barring injuries to back-ups etc..

I've been saying for years that Wadley is too small and isn't a fit for the system here. We need a big back who can carry a pile of guys forward for an extra half a yard.

I'm more interested in what this list looks like in December than I am in May. There will be other Hawkeyes on that December list, including Wadley and Welsh.

So it looks like the 2 Iowa players are

59. Josey Jewell
89. Ike Boettger

Can't take these lists seriously but S. Welsh is our best lineman. I think the plan is for Wadley to return kicks. I like it gets our home run hitter in the open field more.
