Top 10 Positives Going in to Week 2

Cannot agree that there are no worries. The Linebackers, mainly Spearman & Q really need to improve their
pass coverage. Bo Bowers, the RS Freshman, in his first game experience, did a much better job than the other
2 in pass coverage. This is going to be a huge factor, this season. It may be the biggest determinant of how
successful IOWA is in 2014.

Let me clarify....

Iowa isn't short on talent. It's there. These guys just need more experience. Everything that happened defensively against UNI can be corrected in the film room and on the practice field. We don't have to be worried about whether or not Iowa will develop some serviceable Linebackers because there are good players at that position who just need a little more refining.

No worries.

No picks and no sacks ... completed 76% ... not a bad start.
He's Jeff Garcia. Alston is Mike Klinkenborg. Other teams are going to realize their weaknesses and we'll see if the Hawks can adjust.

It it will come down to safety play on both sides. If the Hawks need Lowdermilk to cover Alston's man, someone else is going to be open. If other teams know Jake won't throw long, the safeties will sneak up and make the run game and short passes harder.
