Tony Parker is a bad man

One of the best individual performances in any sport this year, IMHO. Not only that shot, not only that move, but he also ran an offense that tied an NBA Finals record for fewest turnovers in a game. Virtuoso performance.

plus, it was in a finals game v. la ron at miami. can't dial up a better result.

The thing about that shot--Miami defended Parker perfectly, and I do mean perfectly, the whole play. They switched well, they made him fall to the ground with his dribble, they forced him to use every single tench of second on the shot clock, their best defender, LeBron had a hand up defending the shot attempt, and he still put it in.

Miami is in trouble. They couldn't beat San Antonio despite holding them below 42% from the field and beating them up on the glass (+9). When you force Miami to take jump shots they are very beatable. Allen and Lebron are the only two players on that team that can shoot three's from above the break. If you can make Bosh and Wade try to beat you with jump shots, you've got a great chance of winning. Miami's only chance is for Lebron to score 30+ every game the rest of the way out.

I'm not a fan of either team, but I've got all kinds of respect for the Spurs. They're like the Cardinals of basketball, and that's why I have them winning this thing. One last ride for the unsung Big Three.

Not just jump shots, but 3's mind you. Bosh should never, ever be shooting 3's especially in the 4th quarter in any game of the finals.

If you are playing in the NBA finals, it is the end of the 4th quarter, and you find yourself standing with the ball at the 3 point line with nobody within 15 feet? Don't shoot it, there is a reason you are that open.

This could be a great series. Im a long time Spurs Fan. But am concerned that if they let it go 7 they may run out of gas. Lets put em away in 5 or 6

I realize iso(s) are part of basketball especially with the athleticism of today's basketball player........... i am old school and I prefer ball movement it is such a beautiful thing when it is done right and the Spurs do it right. Mr. Burke needs to pattern his game after Tony Parker, develop that lost art of the floater and/or runner, develop that mid range game, have the ability to get into the paint and set up up your teammates.

He is a 6'11 guy trying to be a 3........and it has been that way the day he signed with Miami you think he is going to change now.

I don't see this going more than 6. The Spurs played far from their best game and still pulled it out on the road in front of a crazy home crowd.

I actually think the Heat are in a pretty good place. The Spurs have been breaking down Miami for over a week, Miami had two days to game plan for San Antonio. Miami has shown they can win on the road, the Spurs are going to allow the Heat to play their usual small ball lineup, they will adjust and I think they'll pull this series out.

I sure hope you're right on this. I was saying (before the outcome of the game) that the team that wins the first game will win the series, and I still think that will happen, unfortunately. I think that'll be the case because:

1. Popp is the best coach in the game. Spolstra is just over-matched.
2. Bosh blows lately and needs to quit taking so many damn 3's. He needs to actually try and use his quickness to his advantage. He won't do that though.
3. DWade will probably show up in only 2 of the games all series long, if that.
4. Nobody is making 3's for the Heat, besides Ray Allen lately, and he's a liability on D.
5. The Spurs are damn good and determined as hell to get another title before it's too late.
6. LeBron still doesn't have that "killer instinct". If he doesn't have it by now, I don't think he'll ever find it.

Triple Double and look back to game 5 of the Paces series to find the killer instinct when he pretty much said enough and took over the 3rd quarter scoring 16 points.

Lebron's not the issue.

Stats do not equal killer instinct.

If the Heat don't win game two, Lebron won't be taking his talent's to south beach again until next season. (even if they do, it still might not come back)

Pops is a great coach but Spoelstra isn't Lionel Hollins. He's one of the better coaches in the league and has done a good job making in series adjustments before. The Spurs had an extra week to prepare for Miami, they didn't throw anything at Miami that the Heat can't handle, they showed they are going to help off of Bosh and Wade any chance they get and force those guys to beat them, but Bosh and Wade aren't Tayshaun Prince and Tony Allen. I think they'll eventually start to come through this series.

The poor 3-point shooting is hurting Miami, they are getting good looks though and the Spurs don't have the Pacers insane length, I think they will start dropping at some point this series.

Saying LeBron doesn't have a killer instinct is just silly at this point. The guy was unbelievable all series against the Pacers, he's carrying the Heat on both ends of the floor, he had a triple double, 18/18!/10 last night with 2 TO's. He's won 7 straight playoff series and 10 of his last 11. He's playing at a ridiculously high level on both ends of the court, with the Finals so spaced out I imagine we will see more and more of him on Parker as the series continues. But haters are always going to hate.

San Antonio is a great team and have just as good a shot of winning a championship as Miami. That said, I saw an interesting stat on ESPN's bottom line yesterday afternoon that said something like "teams coming off of a 7 day rest or greater in between series have gone, something like, 29-1 in the opening game of the next series. That said, there's a ton of basketball to be played and I think it's going to be a great Championship series between two great teams.

Both coaches and players will make the adjustments they need to make and it should only get better. And IMO at this point if you're going to call any of the Heat players out, especially about killer instinct, Lebron is the least desreving of such criticism at this point. Regardless of his triple double last night, he's doing everything he can to carry his team on his back. Killer instinct has nothing to do with teammates that aren't making shots or simply aren't playing at a level they are capable of. Call out Wade or Bosh, but give me a break what more does Lebron need to do to please some people.

And Parker, Ginobli, and Duncan are not the Pacers or the Bulls 7th team. You know what that means? Not much.

Its not hating. It is watching. Lebron is the best player. The spurs are by far the best team (and they didn't play like it last night and still won). Pretty simple really.

It depends how you define killer instinct. Last night in the 4th quarter he was pretty much a non-factor compared to his norm.

I will start the Jordan talk, as that is inevitable. Jordan didn't have some curse on the ball that Lebron doesn't that made other guys make shots when he passed them the ball. It started the second they joined his team when they saw every day that winning wasn't just important to him, it was literally the only thing. (Durant has the same problem as he said so himself) Lebron is possibly the most talented basketball player ever when looking at all skills. But, killer instinct isn't about wanting to win or having the best skills, it is about an absolute hatred of losing. I just don't see it from him.
