Today's Gunna Be UGLY!

I have had a bad feeling about this game a few weeks ago. I don't have a good feeling about today. A few weeks ago it was evident Iowa has problems stopping the run & today will be chasing Robinson all over the field. It's also evident they are not tackling as solidly as in past years. I think the D will get gassed & Michigan will once win the TOP.

I don't mean to be a neg Nancy & want the Hawks to do well, but I don't have a good feeling about today's game.

I don't know, maybe KF & Norm were able to come up with a plan & get the team focussed for today. Who knows. Sometimes in the past they have pulled games out like this when down.

Play hard Hawks!!

I actually feel the complete opposite. I think Iowa comes out and surprises everyone with a win.

With Iowas' linebackers having so much difficulty finding the ball it is hard to conceive of a way to win this game.

One way might to be to get Alston in the game at Mike. Another might be to gash UM's young backers to keep the ball away from you know who. Would also like to see some use of a change of pace runner.

Denard has not played well against Iowa....ever. I know this year's defense isn't what it has been, and I'm sure he'll get the numbers, but if Iowa can force him into making mistakes, this game might go in Iowa's favor....especially if our offense is clicking.

I share the OP's feelings. This does not set up well for us.

The only way we stay close is to play tough, ball control offense. Which means lots of pound and ground with just enough passing to keep the Michigan D honest. But keep the ball out of Robinson's hands, because once he gets it I expect our defensive line and backfield to have a very long afternoon.

I have had a bad feeling about this game. If our O-line comes out with a chip on their shoulders and plays angry moving around Michigans D-line we have a shot at shocking some people today. Come on Hawks play ****** off today!!

Go Hawks!!

I sure thought/hoped early on, that these Linebackers were gonna be a lot faster laterally and quicker finding the ball.

Although Cibulla you obviously don't recall 2009.

You mean when Robinson went 3 for 4 for 30 yards and had a pick and when he rushed 9 times for 49 yards?

I'm with Cibula and have a good feeling for some reason. Over the last 11+ seasons Iowa is 59-12 at home. So worse Iowa teams have beaten better teams than Michigan at home before.

My heart is with the HAWKS but realistically I see no way our Defense can stay with Michigan's offense this year. Hawks Defense has yet to stop any type of QB who is a run/pass threat this year starting with Steele Jantz. Hopefully Hawks Offense can put up big numbers and allow them to pull the upset. (Control the ball and keep our D off the field)

Hitchens is finally back,so I hope he can help in tracking down D-Rob.
On paper,Iowa is definitely an underdog today.
If this was at Michigan, they are probably 11 pt underdogs.
But, it is at Kinnick.
The Hawks offensive line has to be the best unit on either side for the Hawks to win.
They need to allow the Hawks to play ball control, and keep the ball away from D-Rob.
That means regaining the Bullies of the Big Ten moniker, and pushing Michigan around at the line of scrimmage, giving Marcus and Mc'Kail room to operate.
Smashmouth football is our only shot. Then, the occasional play-action shot down field with the wind,to Marvin and Keenan.

On defense, contain D-Rob,do not let him out of the pocket, and just make him throw from that pocket, and hope he is off. He has a decently strong arm,but can throw wounded ducks occasionally. If he does,we must catch the interception, unlike at PSU where Tyler let the game-changing pick six slip thru his hands.

Hawks need to make every big play offered up to them today...with no mistakes.
Iowa 28 Michigan 27.

I see a lot of fire and emotion early by the Hawks. Huge effort. Maybe even an early lead.

As the game wears on, I see 3rd down after 3rd down completed by Robinson and a tired Iowa defense getting beat in the second half.

The Iowa offense runs out of gypsy tears also and sputters late.

Kinnick goes from rowdy to near silence as Michigan wins 42-24.

I will cheer the whole game and hope to heck I'm wrong. If I see a great effort today by the Hawks I'll know they have not surrendered, they are just outmanned. The only way it gets UGLY is if the Hawks give up, which there is no way that is happening.

I don't see this game going well. Our defense is terrible. The coaches make zero adjustments, and stubbornly stick with what isn't working. The coaches also show no emotion, which is more upsetting than anything. It feeds down to the players. Look like you give a **** Kirk.

I suppose the "no emotion" hurt us with all those comebacks in 2009....it's called poise.

Much easier said than done! ;)

Be prepared for Iowa to put little pressure on DR. I would imagine they want to take away the outsides and force the running game up the middle. Our DE won't come off the ends very hard, but hold their positions....it could be frustrating to watch, but I would guess that's what'll happen
