Today's game against AMW All-Stars

You guys need to chill with wondering where the surrender jokes are...France surrendered to Iowa the second the team plane landed 2 days ago and as their new leader, our coach's name is now France McCaffery...

I think you got that backwords. The country once known as France will from now on simpley be known as Fran.

Its starting to dawn on me that this could be the best Iowa team since Ive been really following the hawks circa the early 90s.

Probably won't be as good as the Earl, Street, Mosses, Barnes teams but it could be as good as any since.

I really hope we're better than those teams. The Earl-Barnes senior team was pretty good, but those other early 90s teams were nothing to write home about.

No he's sitting out this trip. Doctors said that he could new ready if it was conference play but since it's an exhibition game they don't wanna risk it.

I remember reading an article saying Gesell was ahead of schedule healing-wise and might play later on in the Eurotrip.

I didn't read that anywhere (not saying it wasn't written), but he did suit up for the last game with a brace on his hand.

My maternal grandfather was a wise, practical man, who farmed a piece of dirt in Eastern Iowa for nearly 70 years. He always gave me little words of wisdom while I was growing up. One of his favorites seems applicable today. He said "Son, don't base your expectations on exhibition games against French scrubs."

Wise, wise man...

It was funny the first time, but considering Kansas lost twice in that same gym last year, your "point" is moot.

I would love for this team to be as good as the 2005-06 team that finished 2nd in the Big Ten, won the BTT and was seeded 3rd in the NCAA tourney....those would be great goals for this team.
