to those that think the future is going to be bad

ISU is average, fine. Iowa is just plain bad. They lost to a better team; that's not exactly "bad loss" material. Had ISU lost to Iowa, however, THAT would have been a bad loss for them.

Thank you for making my point. Our program has gotten gotten to the point (obviously low) where fans like you think it's ok (maybe even expected) to lose at home to ISU. Really sad..

We lose in Kinnick to ISU and have fans saying, "that's ok, ISU is pretty darn average this year."

In order to soften the blow of this year's performance we're now down to categorizing our losses as good, average, and bad? Good grief.

As far as the star gazing goes you can twist and turn that data 'till the cows come home. I could tell you that among the Top 300 recruits in the country that ESPN shows Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois are the only programs in the BIG to have no success thus far in landing any players from this list. In fact Iowa has extended one of the lowest number of offers to any on this list.......even fewer the year before.

Minnesota used to be a national power. Them losing to Northwestern is now a bad loss.

You see how your logic fails?

Losing to ISU was a bad loss in 2005, 2007, etc. And it's not good that Iowa has gotten this bad on the field. But that doesn't make this year's loss a bad one that would hurt our resume. ISU is the better team, and they really aren't that bad. They've beaten two ranked teams this year.

BTW, there's a big difference between thinking it's okay, or even expecting to lose to ISU at home, and recognizing that this team losing to them is not a bad loss. They've beaten a ranked team this year, and gave K-State everything they could handle. And they're likely going bowling.

Losing to a bowl-bound team from a BCS conference is not a bad loss in 90% of cases. Especially if you're not likely to reach a bowl. And in this year's Big Ten, that last statement is a helluva lot more telling than a loss to ISU.
