since 2010, Iowa has recruited
15 4*'s
41 3*'s
15 2*'s
2009 class had 20 commits
2 4*'s
5 3*
13 2*'s
of the 3*'s MacMillan is a backup on the OL, Rodgers is a starter, Clark is a backup, Boffelli is a backup and Cotton is the kick returner and slot receiver, of the 2 4*'s Davis is a starter and Wegher is gone, those 2 would have been true seniors this year the other 3 are RSJR and play a big role on this team.
Rogers will a senior FB blocking for the RB'S, Boffeli maybe the starting Center, MacMillan and Clark will be solid backups on the Line, the future of Iowa football is no dead it is alive Cotton will be the kick returner and slot receiver

Not another thread about potential that may or may not ever amount to anything. Love the optimism, but until the majority of those 3*'s, 4*'s and 5*'s make a name for themselves by proving it on the field, it's all speculation based on the possiblity that they will make a name for themselves. Every athlete at the college level has potential it doesn't mean everyone's going to reach it.

Who will be the coach is the question? Can the new coach utilize all that talent?!!

That's the true question. I'm excited about the team we will field in the near future, I'm just disappointed that we will have a 50 50 chance to have good seasons with that talent.

Blythe RSFR is starting and looks pretty good RG
Walsh another RSFR is going to be starting LG
Donnal RSSO started and looked pretty good LT/RG
THAT'S THE FUTURE ol you are looking at
CJF True JR from the 2010 class is starting
Hamilton True SO from the 30th ranked 2011 class is the backup TE
Garmon a FR is the backup RB
that's a pretty good group to build around
the defense
Cooper RSFR is a backup DT
Law true So is now the starter and people just raves about him, like I keep saying only the haters can't/won't admitt the future looks good, as for a starting QB, with a very solid group of OL blocking for him and a solid group of skill players, a new QB that has had at least 17 months of learning a new system vs a QB having just 5 month to learn a new system yeah it will be a better team next year

I have to agree that we are looking pretty good for the next couple years, if we have a qb better then JVB that is. As for stars not mattering, not recruiting stars is what got us into this mess. That and Kirk's awesome game day decisions.

Until they produce on the field I'm not going to get that excited about their potential. Hopefully some of the kids on your list are as good as advertised.

Really no evidence to suggest this staff can do anything with the 'talent'... and how many of those disgruntled, or never produced (See CJF) players will we be talking about?

When has this staff ever produced an top tier Offense?

I'm gonna beat redhawk to this one, 2002 :D

How did you edit that and still have so many typos and not make sense?

Mr. Redhawk, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Gonna take more than *stars to right this ship. In 2010 we had 6 guys in the NFL draft and at that time only managed to muster 7 wins prior to its bowl game. Senior players, or young players, we are simply no longer getting it done. We had DJK, Clayborn, Ballard, Sash ... Just gets old fans making excuses for this staff. Next year is going to be just as tough ... a stronger schedule, a first-year QB (one who can't seem to garner any playing time over Vandy) ... and other teams will get better ... How many years of mediocrity before you stop drinking the koolaid and come to the realization the excuses are simply that -- excuses ... "We need to execute better" .. "That's a well-coached team." ... "We just didn't get things done." ... Enough.

Remember the 2005 class?

Tony Moeaki 5* Spent most of his time at Iowa on the IL.

Dan Doering 5* Major flop.

Dace Richardson 5* Hurt all the time.

Ryan Bain 4* PUNK

Kalvin Bailey 4* xferred

Rafael Eubanks 4* Solid Hawkeye.

Tyler Blum 4* Left team early.

Jake Christensen 4* Enough said.

Trey Stross 4* Decent Hawkeye.

Alex Kanellis 4* Hard luck story.

How did that class turn out?

Therefore we should only recruit 2-3* players, because ONE highly rated class didn't pan out that well. I love that logic.
