Titans release Shonn Greene

And I refuted your 1 click refutation by saying every dog including Greene has his day (and showing (and using logic asking if Greene is so good in the pros why is he hunting for a team) that Ray Ray, for example, ate Greene up every time he ran in the middle). Show me a picture of Greene running over some position other than a CB or safety with regularity and I'd be more impressed 'cause CBs and safeties really don't know how to tackle. If you need to show Greene running over CBs and safeties you, IMO, are commenting more on the OL's prowess than Greene's ability.

If you want to talk about Greene's greatness at Iowa, I would tend to agree with you. Not as a pro, though. He's a slow KF running back who needs a particular (one could even say special) system to be successful.

i made no statement about him, one way or another. you said he couldn't run anyone over at the nfl level.

all i've done to contribute to this thread is post a couple pictures of said person. so to refute me is quizzical, at best, given i've made no blanket statement regarding said person.

Geeze Ankle, don't expect much from Greene unless he can run over a CB or safety or punter or kicker or QB. Certainly don't expect him to run past someone unless he's running past a lineman or QB or long snapper or (referee). IMO, Greene goes in the NFL as his OL goes. Have I covered enough bases to satisfy you?

you either try too hard, or are a complete dolt. i'm with the latter...AND.....Billso! :)

I'm just a get rid of Kirk Ferentz kinda Iowa fan just like some of you guys are get rid of Davis Iowa fans or were get rid of KOK Iowa fans.

The Iowa football program is so much more important than any one crappy coach, right?

you are right about that. Let's just hope the crappy coach is this one and not the next one.

Honestly? Yes and no. I like to THINK we aren't a school/program that bounces guys after one bad or two middling season(s) the way Auburn or Florida will.
I also like to think our coaches don't bail out guys accused of rape, OR cut a guy loose because of media pressure or he is injured or not a superstar.

I like KF because he's a genuinely good, class-act guy. But, he needs to get back on track, no doubt.

If/when the time comes to cut KF loose, OR if he gets back on track and stays through the end of his contract (assuming retirement), we really can't dwell on, "What if the next guy is worse?!"

I don't buy into "We MUST keep KF because things could get worse!" any more than I buy into "He needs to go NOW!"

But when the time comes, whatever the circumstances, so be it.

So we keep the coach for fear of getting a crappy coach? KF is a good guy and stands for all the right things and plays the right way even though we know he's a crappy coach? Evidently winning and losing doesn't factor in. I guess some think one crappy coach is just as important as the Iowa football program.
