Tip of the Cap to ISU

Taking objectivity out of it that was nuts... Oklahoma isn't just some pushover they are a good team. And yet they folded like a tent. They burned all their TOs and tried to stop that title wave but just couldn't. Crazy game and if I never hear Musburger say Hilton Magic again it'll be too soon...

That place was going nuts. If you were an ISU fan at that game I bet you had the best time you've ever had at a game. Not one person left that place and with like 17 mins to go they were down 20 and looked dead in the water. Even to do that against a bad team is impressive to do it to a ranked team like that is just that much more impressive regardless of if you like them at all or not.

I was at the game. My best friend of 40 years is an alum. He never went to a game when he went to a basketball game when he was a student (77-81) and he decided at the last minute to get tickets. He paid for everything which was nice and it was a great first half. ISU played poorly in the first half and great in the 2nd. Oklahoma was below average the first and pathetic in the 2nd. I don't want to hear about how tough the Big 12 is. The Penn State team we played on Saturday would have blown out Oklahoma by at least 20. Another thing I don't want to hear is cyfans crying about the refs. They mugged Oklahoma all night. Under the basket Houge is always pushing the lower back every time an opponent jumps. Niang is always pushing, slapping arms, hands when the ball is away from him. It's the theory of thug ball, they can't call everything. Refs were clearly biased in the 2nd half. Oklahoma got away with a hard foul on Monte Morris which the fans wanted blood for. O 4 different occasions an ISU player leveled an Oklahoma player without a foul being called. On one play an Oklahoma player put up a 3 point attempt and the ISU player drilled him in the chest and sent him flying into the seats and a foul was called and the fans came unglued. And of course the professional radio guy takes his headset off and is screaming at the refs. It's embarrassing that a supposed professional is actually a professional d-bag. I will give credit to the team. They must have shot 65-70% in the 2nd half. The fans in our area were all pretty decent people. Zealous fans but not a problem at all. The staff at Hilton were very helpful in getting me to my seat which was a little difficult because of my disability. All in all it was alright because I was supporting my friend although I couldn't clap or cheer for the clowns. My boos were drowned out so bad my friend right next to me couldn't hear them. Oklahoma was ranked #15 in the country but their play last night suggests they should be ranked #150. One thing I found out was I went to a game without to much pain in my feet and legs from walking, people bumping into them etc.. Kinnick, Carver I have set my sights on attending games in the future.

This is the second time OU blew a 20 point lead. It's what they do. :)

You sound incredibly bitter.

As impressive as the second half was, the first half was just as pathetic. I'm not sure what's going on with that team...at times they look like Kentucky, at other times they look like Rutgers. BDJ is also completely lost.

18 points in the 1st half....59 in the second half. FIFTY NINE.

First half, ISU was 8-24 from the field with 9 turnovers. OU was an unimpressive 13-34 from the field but only 3 turnovers. Plus OU was getting to all the 50-50 balls. Second half, ISU was 21-26 from the field and 7 turnovers while OU was 9-28 from the field and 8 turnovers; and it seemed like ISU was getting the 50-50 balls.

I'd say it was as much a case of OU choking it away as it was ISU playing out of their minds.

Tale of 2 halves. ISU was garbage in the 1st half, OU was garbage in the 2nd half.

FWIW if I have to hear Brent Musberger say Hilton Magic one more time, I will stick my head in a snow bank.

At one time he was only mildly annoying in football. Now he's completely awful in any sport. He needs to do all of sportscasting a favor and just retire.

Kind of like Iowa at Illinois in '87. I'd say that was more impressive as Iowa was down 22 with 16 minutes left at #8 Illinois.

It reminded me of Iowa/UNLV in the '87 tourney. The Hawks had an 18 point half time lead, then played not to lose in the 2nd half, just like Okie. Not a good plan against a high-octane offense.

An even more impressive comeback was at MSU in '93, first game back from the CMS40 tragedy.

Down 16 with 6 minutes left, win by 6 in OT. Without CMS40.

I may be bitter. Probably envious of all their success, lol.
