TIMING OF ISU GAME

Has anyone thought about what an Iowa Isu game would look like today? Id be slightly concerned with the way that QB is playing and they actually look like they have a D for once.. Thank goodness it was their first game of the year!
 
As teams have more tape on Purdy I will be curious to see how he does. Oklahoma State is not good and West Virginia folded against their first real competition.

This is an understatement. West Virginia’s best team on the schedule was NC State, and that game got cancelled. Their first five opponents were bad. Sure Texas Tech was ranked 25, but I’m not sold. #6 is a joke for a team that essentially played Incarnate Word five times.

Yeah, Texas Tech put up a pretty good effort defensively against TCU last Thursday. Granted Robinson hasn’t played very well this year.
 
ISU needs to move on from losing to the hawks like some iowa fans need to move on from Wisconsin game. This what if non sense gets stale sometimes.

I've stated that we will have a much better chance of knocking off Penn State now than in September, so things usually end up evening out.
 
I'd be concerned if I was playing Iowa with the way our offense has been playing and the way our defense has continued to play
 
ISU lost to Iowa plain and simple. I wish they had the SDSU game to get the kinks out. I wish they had found their offensive identity. However, they didn't and the game was played. Iowa was better when they played. Both teams can still have great seasons.

I agree both teams are better now as they should be, add 10 pats to each and move on
 
W Va is overrated. Iowa playedISU at the right time.

The key would be whether BF is truly learning on the job (remember his genes) or the same old BF.

Will Iowa generate 66 yards agsinst PSU?

Therein is the answer to a rematch with ISU and none of of us really know the answer. The problem is that either answer is maddening.

This is the perfect response. ISU is playing terrible defensive teams in the Big 12. Iowa's defense smothered ISU after their first drive and this was with Kempt and Nolan at QB.

Iowa fans and coaches know of the 9 games KF has lost to ISU about 7 of those losses could have easily been Iowa wins and should have. Even KF's first two teams played ISU very well.

Okie State is definitely not good, W VA is not good, most all of the Big 12 is overrated.

Now Texas is number 7 but lets see how they finish.
 
I've been over at the clown board. They are convinced that if they were in the B1G West they would be winning it all. I've put it on here before, but the East being substantially better than the West is a myth.

East teams vs West teams
2014 7-7
2015 7-7
2016 11-10 West
2017 13-8 East

The East has won all four championship games, only the 2014 game was a blowout, the same year Ohio St won the national championship game. In 2015, Mich St 16 Iowa 13.
2016 PSU 38 Wisconsin 31. 2017 OSU 27 Wisconsin 21. All close games.

Anyhow, their ignorance was abundant. West Virginia #6!?? They have not played anyone. ISU still sucks.
 
ISU this year would do OK in the Big 10 west. I would guess on neutral fields with better Big 10 defenses and solid offenses:
The West:
Iowa beats ISU
ISU beats Illinois
Minny ISU a tossup
Wisky beats ISU because of run game and defense
ISU beats Nebby
jNW beats ISU because of defense and Pat F
Purdue slight edge on ISU

ISU would be 3-4 or 4-3 against the West teams

Now they have to play 3 East teams

ISU loses to Mich, PSU, OSU, MSU depending on which MSU team shows up

ISU - Maryland a toss up depending on Tempe vs Texas Maryland

ISU beats Rutgers, toss up with Indiana,

So the odds are ISU could be 2-1 at the best against the East but probalby 1-2

Overall they would have 4-6 losses most years in the Big 10. Not that good.

Yeah but that was before Brock Montana took over the reigns.
