Looking at their roster, the SeaWolves have 4 guys over 6'7". Three of them are FR/SO. Iowa has a tremendous height advantage and are probably a little more athletic than they are. They have a pretty experienced roster as about half are JR/SR. They're obviously a decent team or they wouldn't be here.
But I think Iowa's size and defense will ultimately win the game. We just have to hope they don't get off to a torrid shooting night from behind the arc. If they do (and it looks like they can), the Hawks could be in trouble. But my gut says Iowa should win by 10+ points. 79-69 Iowa.

the seawolves could give this team fits without gesell.
1) undersized but athletic. their guards are quick, as is their 3. the rotations are going to have to be crisp and aggressive.
2) they attempt 16 3pts a game, hitting 35% -- they were 40% against UMass
3) 77% of their FGA were 2pt -- they look to go inside, especially with Warney
Warney is 255lbs and solid -- not as muscular as Nix or Mbakwe, but in that mold.
their scores suggest a similar tempo to iowa.
i'll call 70-64 iowa

But how is Stony Brook associated with Alfraud? Well, Marcus Coker attends school there and he left Iowa following sex abuse allegations. Alfraud protects rapists if they can help him win. SB is in Long Island where Joey buttofuoco lived, and he was convicted of statutory rape. So if Buttofuoco could play basketball, then the Fraud would have asked Amy Fisher to pray with him and summoned the big ten to not allow the states attorneys office to chant bad but true things about him in the courtroom/stands.
Joey Buttofuoco and the Fraud also both remind me of guys who wear gold chains. They could have gone gold chain shopping together in Iowa city as they asked young co-eds if they knew who they were and then demanded shiny gold chains for free.

[h=2]Stony Brook is streaky, offensively, but solid.[/h]They love to get out and run because, like most mid-major teams, they don’t have great size, or an offensive scheme to make up for it. Up front, they do have a very good big man in freshman Jameel Warney (who picked Stony Brook over offers from Iowa and Penn State), who shoots 63% from the field and has very good touch around the rim (and I gripe that they don’t feature him enough). But after that, they’ve got three guards and a swingman, and do most of their scoring either from the perimeter or off the dribble.
The Seawolves don’t make a lot of mistakes, but in a lot of ways they resemble Penn State’s offense from last year, at least during the first half of the season. If they can’t run, they look to slow things down, but don’t really run too many set plays offensively. (Unless they’re playing a zone. Then back-cuts galore. But I don’t think Iowa will play much zone.) Their leading assist man is Tommy Brenton (a swingman who basically plays the four), but that’s because he’s the only player on the team who looks to pass first. Everything else is swinging the ball around the perimeter and a lot of iso. That works, because they’re a very good shooting team, especially on pull-ups, and pretty much everyone who plays but Warney and Brenton can shoot the three very well. Stony Brook will score in bunches when their shots are falling, and when they’re not, they slow the game down enough and play tough enough defense that they don’t let the game get away from them.
I know Stony Brook doesn’t sound like they’re much of a hurdle, but I’m telling you, if they’d managed to take care of business in the America East tournament (if Albany hadn’t shot out of their minds from downtown), they’d probably be a 13 seed and a popular upset pick. They haven’t lost a game by more than 11 all year, and that was in UConn, in a game they led most of the way, on the second game of a back-to-back. I know I’m a homer, but if Stony Brook can hit some shots, we’re in for a real fun game tomorrow.
And no. Marcus is ours. But you want to hear something pretty amazing? He was only the second-best running back on the team last year.
