Time to Switch Out Brandon Smith?

Maybe we need to pull out the Run 'N Shoot or Air Raid one of these games just to get these young receivers some reps.

Brandon Smith is the player I root for the most to have a breakout game receiving wise. The guy works hard out there run blocking and is barely targeted as a receiver. It looks to me like he's the 3rd or 4th option for Stanley, but they throw in a few plays where he is the primary receiver by design to try to get him the ball. Some of the passes heading his way weren't that accurate and he has dropped a couple of passes that he had his hands on that were knocked away by coverage.

I wouldn't make a big deal about any of our WR stats. We just aren't good at getting them the ball consistently.

How about that... Smith played great minus the holding call he had. I'm surprised they didn't try targeting him more in the 2nd half. The guy doesn't go down easy when those smaller DBs try tackling him either. Think about him in this context. The closest receiver we've ever had to being like him is Marvin McNutt right? Well at this point in his career he was a RS freshman QB still... I think Smith is going to be great and we got to see a nice taste of it today.

This is really Smith's first season of game action at receiver on the college level. Today was a nice step forward for him. We saw something. You can see the ability.

BTW, this post didn't age well.

It was never going to age well, and it only took a few days for that to happen. It was such a ridiculous premise that I didn't even want to bother to come here until the egg was all over his face, as it is just a matter of when, not if that was gonna be the case.

Rob's a lot like Dwayne Johnson; he never sleeps.
