Time to shake up the Iowa coaching staff

1. Fire OL coach George Barnet
Not only has the OL been terrible, they are starting to commit a lot of penalties too.
2. Re-assign Brian Ferentz to be the new OL coach and also the new co-offensive coordinator.
The experiment of Brian Ferentz as QB coach has been a disaster. Brian can go back to coaching the OL which is more his specialty.
3. Promote offensive analyst Jon Budmyr to be the new QB coach and also the new co-offensive coordinator.
Budmyr has filled this role before at other schools.
4. Make sure that Budmyr takes over the play calling.
The play calls from Brian Ferentz are not working. Need to try something different.

Well, I was trying to put a good spin on the fact that Brian can't be outright fired or even demoted. Re-assigning him to OL coach and co-offensive coordinator is the best way to save face in this situation.

We all know what should happen, but none of it will because it will involve castigating his son publicly. Will not happen.

Has to be looked like Brian is helping Barnet get the line back to form and he is needed there for the good of the team. I suggested Kirk use this face saver last year before he named Brian QB coach.

Wasnt the last decent overall O line we've had a BF line? Current guy isnt cutting it. Polasek wasnt any better.
